Re: Amazon Fire TV Streaming Devices

If you're that concerned about power, you should also be concerned that your tv and other devices are in sleep mode too. In that case, just plug them all into the same surge protector and turn it off. You can even connect it to an app with a smart plug if you want.

You do have it plugged into an outlet and not the usb on your tv, right? It is possible that sleep mode allows it to see when the tv is turned on (it is going to be consuming some power either way if it's not unplugged because it's "listening" for your remote to turn back on. But I would think the energy drain would be minimal.

Re: Amazon Fire TV Streaming Devices

No usb, but friend actually told me to connect to usb and when tv goes off, Fire stick off. But sleep should be off, so I’ll just leave as is and pretend it’s not really on.

Expect them to heavily push these before Disney+ releases.

The 4K stick that I bought recently actually has a power button on its remote, my older versions did not, so I guess it is possible to turn that one off at least (I usually just let it go into sleep mode though)

Re: Amazon Fire TV Streaming Devices

So why can’t I stream Disney + on Fire Stick, but works just fine on phone or smart TV? On fire stick it keeps loading, with that colored swirley, but nothing comes on. Through tv it’s fine and easy. Same wireless connectivity. Seems odd...

Did you try to uninstall the app and reinstall it? Also, have you power cycled your Fire Stick?

Re: Amazon Fire TV Streaming Devices

Jail breaking an Amazon device can potentially lead to other apps fucking up or not functioning properly That's why Amazon doesn't recommend doing it.

Re: Amazon Fire TV Streaming Devices

You don't know how to power cycle something? You just unplug it and plug it back in......

It's probably not working due to it being modded. Don't mod your firestick.

As others have said, modding devices can make other apps not work, especially if they have recently updated. I bet your Disney Plus app updated recently and it won't work with your modded device.

Which is it? First you say it is...then you say it's not.

Amazon Fire TV question

Is there a way to adjust the screen size while watching a DVD or DVD-R?

My TCLRoku TVs has an * button on remote that allows it but can't find anything likewise with my Fire TV.

Which model are you referring to? And are you watching it via DVD Player? Plex? Other?

Re: Amazon Fire TV Streaming Devices

If you're talking about aspect ratio, you should just set it on your TV. I don't think FireTV has an option. At least my 4k version does not.

But as RichC2 mentions, more info is needed.

Watching it via blu ray player.

No matter what I am watching or playing video games on my Roku TV it isn't a problem adjusting the screen but still can't figure out the Amazon Fire TV. I just bought the thing last September from Amazon so it's a newer model. I don't know if I can read the model number in the back because my eye sight isn't the best.

Do you know if it's Toshiba? Insignia? Somebody else? Amazon doesn't make their own Fire TV Sets yet.
