FYI, this is now available again (though given some people's difficulties last time, it may not be worth doing)

Watch 8 hours of Back To School movies. I highly recommend Clue and Wargames (I don't know what Clue has to do with the theme)

I'll say this about Prime. It sure has a deep vault of 70's B movies, Blaxploitation films, etc.

If you're doing the cheeze it promo, I'll also throw a recommendation to Dora and the Lost City of Gold. Never seen the show, but the movie is pretty funny (and intentionally so).

Thanks for the heads up on Dora! I actually used to watch the show (with my son) and enjoyed the movie in theaters (it's quite possible I was the only adult male watching the movie solo.) I probably won't watch enough to bother with that alleged promo but i do want to watch Dora again. (If you have watched the show, the movie does a good job of modernizing it and having loving fun with the source material, while still being reasonably entertaining for adults.)

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread

Argh! I finally started to watch Farscape a couple of weeks ago--they had all four season on Prime Video. I am about halfway through season 1. I sat down to watch another episode or two the other day and it was no longer available on Prime. :( I went to JustWatch too see if it was anywhere else and it showed it still available on Prime. Turns out, seasons 2-4 are still on Prime, but season 1 isn't. I guess I could skip to S2, but I'm kind of obsessive about watching things completely and in order. Hopefully it's just a temporary removal.

Farscape Season 1 still looks viewable to me on Prime. I'm in the US, though, and availability could be different in other countries. (I suppose it could have gotten renewed after you looked, or it was a glitch or something).

Have Amazon disabled fast forward through the previews or do I need a new remote for my Roku stick? The screen displays press |> to skip but when I do it says disabled.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread

I found I couldn't skip a trailer a week or two ago, but it didn't indicate anything about being disabled.

I got the Cheez-it reward (for September) email earlier today.
This time, it's one click and you get both rewards, and they have it in the email:
Thank you for participating in the Cheez-It Streaming challenge. You have received a $5 credit towards Cheez-It products and $5 Prime Video credit.

Subj: Congratulations your reward is here!

Same for me, but an interesting thing is after I claimed my credits my Amazon account shows that I received $10 in video credits instead of $5, haven’t redeemed any yet so I don’t know if it truly was doubled or if maybe for some reason it is showing the Cheezit credit in the same total.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread

I wonder if like last time it takes 48 hours for the credit email to arrive. I finished yesterday morning and still no email. Then again last time 48 hours coincided with my contact with customer service so I'm not sure which triggered my emails.

Also last time I could not get the credit to work. Either it was because of other credits (I had some no rush shipping credits first try and some gift card balance credits second time and didn't feel like trying a third time) or it somehow it wouldn't work on my account.

Here's to hoping it all works smooth this time. If not, I won't bother again.

The page on Amazon that details the promotion says that you will get the email and credits in 72 hours, and mine did take right at 3 days after I finished streaming to come.

I will post after buying some videos about how the credits worked (or didn’t).

I got my credit a few days ago, around 2 days after I completed watching.

Pretty sure it's not $10 in video credit - I saw the same thing happen last month

Also, now that I have $10 of cheeze-it credit (from this month and last month), I tried to purchase one of the eligible items, only to find that I only got $5 off. Seems like it's only allowing one credit to be used (even though I remember reading that the credits could be combined)

I got another $10 video credit this month and now it says I have $21. The problem is there seems to be no way of knowing how much credit will be applied to a video purchase without actually buying it first. Even then, it says the credit won't show up at checkout. You will receive an email later showing the amount of credit applied. What kind of BS is that?

Yes, thank you, I just found out that you're absolutely correct, the extra $5 in video credit is actually the cheez-it credit, only $5 will apply towards videos, the other $5 will only apply towards one of the eligible cheez-it products, I think there are 8 cheez-it products to choose from. We chose the variety pack with the Pringles and Rice Krispy Treats, seemed like a good deal for $5.70 after the credit.

John, after trying this myself I can tell you that $10 of that is the cheez-it credit ($5 x2 months), so I am quite sure that $10 of that $21 will not apply to videos, but the other $11 should.

Hope that helps!

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread

I had a harder time last month up to and including long chat sessions and phone sessions with the support team. I bought 2 different titles and the $5 never came off. They ended up giving me a $5 on a another order just to compensate me.

Still shows $5 video credit yet I doubt it will work. It might have not worked previously as it could not combine with the $2 no rush shipping I had on the first title and the $5 gift card amount used on second order. I wasn't willing to try it a third time.

If/when this new credit shows up I will try again. If it doesn't work this month I will give up on this promo in the future.

Is the video credit limited to $5 for each item like the cheez-its?

I don’t think so. My account for example, was showing $13 in video credits, but $5 was actually the cheez-it credit, so when I purchased a video $8 came off the top, and my account showed $5 remaining (again, this is really the cheez-it credit). Then I purchased one of the eligible cheez-it products, it applied the final $5 to the purchase, and now my account shows zero in credits, as it should.

If you wanted to experiment without actually making a purchase then you could add one of the eligible cheez-it items to your cart and see if it takes off $10 during the checkout process. If it does then you know exactly how much you have in cheez-it credit, and what remains past that is actual video credit that should apply to your next video purchase.

Hope that helps and was not too confusing!

In my experience, only one $5 cheez-it credit applies to a product. I have (or should have) $10 in cheez it credit, but only $5 applied when I tried to check out with a cheez-it item.

Ahh, I stand corrected on the Cheez-it part of the question, but to John’s specific question about video credit usage I can say from recent experience that he should be able to use more than $5 on purchase of 1 video.
