what's wrong with the Vudu UI? i think it's the easiest and more friendly than the rest.

I mean it couldn't get any worse, could it? It's so difficult already to find anything that's "free" for Prime subscribers without using a third party site.

It's a workaround, but you could use Just Watch.

https://www.justwatch.com/us/provide...amazon-channel

Toggle between Movies/TV/All and filter if you want.
Once you find something, click through until you get to the Amazon page, and add to your watchlist.

Right, that's the "third party site" I was talking about, if not for JustWatch I wouldn't know like 90% of what came (or went) from prime video. Of the major subscription services I track on there it has by far the most changes per day.

There is a tab on the Prime video app called Free to watch and it includes Prime originals and Freevee.

Are you referring to the Roku version? I believe that is the version being mentioned. I'd rather use our LG TV, Web site, or Android App before using the new Roku version.

Yes, I’m referring to the Roku-Vudu app. It’s just horrible now.

Well now I'm curious.

Edit: Wow. They took it straight back to the 2010 Roku Netflix App.

What do you all think of the re-design. I wouldn't call it significant. It's more of a streamline. I think I like it better. I like the subscriptions page.

Still the same old app on my Roku. Checked for updates.

Ah, I see they have genres now but they pop up on the search (find) page. Not a ton but enough.

Anyone got a suggestion of how I can get Amazon to play my 4K movies to play in UHD?
they’ll play in UHD on other apps if they’re MA but I have a few non-MA Amazon movies that only play in HD. I doesn’t work either on my TV app or roku app
Solutions via google searches have not helped.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread

That’s not how it works. It’s completely contingent on Amazon carrying the movie in UHD. If they don’t offer it in UHD, then you can’t see it in UHD on Amazon. Doesn’t matter if you have it on MA in UHD.

I bought it on UHD on Amazon
says it’s in UHD on the home screen but it refuses to play anything above HD
I guess I’ll stick to watching them in HD until Amazon gets their act together or Paramount, MGM etc finally joins MA

Ah, okay. Your post did not mention you purchased it from Amazon in UHD. Weird issue, I’ve never heard about that before. Maybe tied to the new crappy UI layout.

And after all of these years, there’s zero hint those studios will ever join MA.

Im still on the old UI.

The Amazon finally installed on my roku, did Vudu design their new UI?

While it looks a bit like VUDu's UI, I think Amazon may have done a better job.

I hate this UI. They list all the movies in a straight line which makes it impossible to browse. I’ve got thousands of movies in my library. It would take me over an hour to scroll through the whole list.

I don't know who designed Amazon's and Vudu's redesign, but it's terrible only being able to view one row at time.

The new fast-forward/rewind that can only be done in 10-second increments is really obnoxious.

On our Roku, I've been able to have continuous FF/RW by one of these methods but not both. I don't remember if it was holding the Left/Right Arrow keys or the FF/RW buttons. The other method produced what you stated, just a 10 second jump.

Check your inboxes. I just now got the following email from Amazon out of the blue:

Take a break from the sun. Stream in the shade. Summer blockbusters are out! Here’s a $6 Prime Video credit to watch the season’s hits.

Click the link below to claim your $6 Prime Video credit. Offer ends on August 29th. Promotional credit expires 30 days after the date issued. Terms and Conditions apply.
I guess maybe because I have a Firestick? Beats me, but I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.
