Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
Has anybody found a site listing the titles leaving Amazon Prime Canada? I've found a couple that cover the new titles coming to the service (like Nowtoronto, and Narcity), but the titles being removed is a different matter. I was told about this blog, and it seems pretty accurate, but I don't know how exhaustive it is. If anyone has another source, that'd be appreciated.
There isn't any other sites that I know that list the expired titles from Amazon Prime Video Canada. I searched but all of them that I found were for the US. It's much easier to find titles leaving Netflix Canada.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
The update to the Amazon Prime video app changed on both our Roku and Smart TV. While browsing for titles seems a little better, the search tool itself is worse in my opinion.
We used to be able to click the star on our Roku remote to toggle captions but now we have to go into a menu (which pauses the program). We used to be able to click the caption button on our TV remote which would popup the captions menu but now we have to pause and go into a menu there as well.
And there is no longer any indication on either our Roku or TV as to what streaming quality we are receiving. On our Roku 3 it can seem apparent if HD drops to SD but on our 4K TV it isn't always obvious if we lose 4K and drop back to HD (on programs w/o HDR or DV). Doesn't happen often but still does happen. I used to pause or click down and the app would show what quality we were receiving but nothing anymore.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
Tried it (clicked to enroll, watched one movie from the list, and let in play in the background for two others) but I didn't get an email (yet).
Watched Out of Time, which was an entertaining, if not particularily remarkable, thriller.

I wouldn’t mind a way to see the total hours. I’ve watched 4 movies so far and nothing yet.

All I received was the $5 cheez it promo.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
I got both.
Yeah, it added $10 in Prime video credit according to the balances, but I suspect the balance is incorrect, and it only really put $5, and the other $5 can only be used for cheeze it items.

I got an e-mail saying I got the $5 Cheez-It credit and how to redeem, but I haven't received the $5 video credit.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
The "While Supplies Last" is concerning as there is no way to know supply on something that is nebulous. I mean come on share an upper dollar amount or quantity. 100, 1000, 10000 credits or dollars worth of credits. We did movies well over 6 hours. And so far nothing. Not Cheezit credits (that we likely won't use) nor Video credit.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
Me to- received the Cheez It credit but not video credit.
"While supplies last" is BS with digital content. I understand "to a max of X recipients", but technically they could generate a code for every participant.
Clicked through to the cheezit reward - I get 5$ off a CheezIt tank top or women's vneck shirt.
Just what I always want! I might send in proofs of purchase and a few bucks postage for something like that.
Waste of time.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
As it has been 2 days since we completed watching 3 movies from her list totalling over 6 hours, I reached out to customer support. They asked if I enrolled. I said yes They asked if we actually watched all of them. I said yes they appear in my watch history from 8/6 and 8/7. They asked if we actually watched each film all the way through. I said yes we watched them via our Roku signed in as me. They said I needed to wait 48 hours after completing the last film and if I don't receive an email, to contact them again. I said it has already been 48 hours since the last film as it is now 8/9 and while I can wait another 48 hours is it really 96 hours to wait to get the email with credit. They then said the promo only works if we stream the movies and not for download. I said Roku doe not have a download option. They then gave me a ticket number and said they were escalating it to higher level support.
Watching the films was not an issue. We adjusted what we had planned to watch till another day and gave these a watch.
Almost not worth the effort after the fact just for $5 video credit if the promo isn't going to work and have a 20-30min hassle with customer service that may not produce the credit anyway.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
Ok. The email came through for the cheezits about 30 min after my chat session. I assumed it came through via the support agent's help.
Few things to point out.
1. You have to click the link in the Cheezit email to get the Prime Video credit applied.
2. There may be restrictions on the credit.
When I clicked it and opened the webpage it sent a second email. After receiving the 2nd email, I checked my Prime Video credit and the $5 showed along with some credit I still had from No Rush Shipping.
I then purchased a title I wanted and for some reason only my existing No Rush Shipping credit was applied to the purchase.
So I contacted customer service again to try to find out if the $5 credit had any restrictions as in cannot use at same time as No Rush Shipping Credit or maybe it is restricted to rentals or certain titles or if there was some issue and the credit should have been applied.
During the session, they said the previous case was still not resolved and the credit should be coming. I told them I already received the credit. They also said the credit cannot be used for digital items. I asked how a Prime Video credit that is for Prime video which is a digital product cannot be used for Prime Video. I also explained the promo was for two $5 credits will h one being for a Cheezit product and the other is a Prime Video credit.
I suspect the email for the credit came normally and not from the original agent getting it fixed. I also suspect this agent was thinking about the Cheezit part of the promo. I suspect I just might not care about this promo in coming months as it has been total hassle this time.
As of this time already over 30 minutes with agent and there is no resolution.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
After over 60 minutes, the agent explained that the issue is with the No Rush Shipping credits. They said Prime Video can only use 1 credit type per purchase.
It sucks as I would have used my other No Rush Shipping credit to pick up some MP3s or towards digital books etc as those credits are not restricted to Prime Video.
My suspicion is the $5 Cheezit credit's restriction about not being combined with other offers considers the No Rush Shipping credit as "another offer".
They assured me that the credit will work on other Prime Video purchases yet will not combine with any other credits. I asked if the order of applying is based on credit expiration or when credit is applied to the account. They had no explanation yet assured me it will work in the future.
Fortunately the credit is good till 2021.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
Closing the loop on this topic (for now).
The agent offered a $5 credit applied to the account for my inconvenience. I told them it was not required as long as things work as they should going forward. They insisted it was fine and said they would apply it to my account. I accepted it expecting a credit applied to my account.
Well the email confirmation came through and they provided a $5 refund to my, get this, last physical order not the digital border to which the Cheezit promo didn't apply. At least it came in the form of a gift card. I just don't know why they used the last physical order and not the last digital order.
Again I may not care about future promos like this as I've used way more than $10 (original promo + latest credit) of my time to get this straight.

Thanks for the taking one for the team!
I already ceased caring as of your post yesterday.
Not that I don't care what you have to say - I appreciate the details and the effort - but even as of then it seemed like this was going to be too many hoops to jump through or exclusions to even slightly be "worth" it. Especially since I rarely spend money on Prime Video :/

Hopefully for those that did partake this time it worked smoothly unlike for me.
And hopefully in all my other posts about customer support's ludicrous answers, some of our fellow members that originally thought they only received the Cheezit credit caught they have to click the link in that email to get the 2nd email which triggers the Prime Video credit.
And that the Prime Video credit is somehow isolated in its use from any other Prime Video credit you may have.
Almost not worth commenting on the limited Cheezit credit itself which for me was t-shirt offerings that are doubtful anyone would want at the prices shown even minus the $5.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
Apparently the Cheezit credits are stackable, so do this for a few months and you should get enough to get some free Cheezit products?
As for the Prime Video credits, some of the couponing sites had some wording that said that only the first 1000 to complete it would get the $5 Prime Video credit. Whether that exact number is true or not, it seems like only people who completed it by Aug. 3 or so got the video credits.
