I think the ISO trick was recently on the fritz and not working for anyone. I think it may be working again.

Also grabbed POTC. Tried to get Wanted, but I'm not sure if it went through or not.

Thanks for the heads up. Updated the thread.

Some people have told me I'm stupid in doing this. They're are saying people all over the net will just come to my thread & just cut & paste all the movies & codes & sale them some where else.

I guess that is a very great possibility. Not sure how else I was going to do this when I was giving them away.

I finally started using VUDU and love the fact that the video/quality is consistent, so far, 100% of the time. There's no quality fluctuations whatsoever.

Signed up yesterday. Fucking love it. Quality and sound is bluray if maybe a little less. I was thoroughly surprised. Redeemed like 40 digital copies today alone. I think I like the idea of having all these movies accessible without physical media. So convenient. Wasn't sure about the quality but hot damn if it isn't fantastic. I love these streaming services more and more and don't feel that penchant desire to have to own every movie in physical form...

Publicly posted codes don't last long enough to sell, that is an unfounded fear.

I agree it's convenient but you are kidding yourself if you believe even the best VUDU digital copies look or sound like Blu-ray. Maybe on a 720P HD television with stereo speakers...

I love the idea of carrying around 1000 movies on my phone/tablet to watch anytime, anywhere.

The best ones look damn good, better than I ever imagined that streaming could. All that aside, the aspect ratio issues might be the most annoying thing, and they aren't getting fixed.

i agree. i was unfortunate enough to see Sisters and it just looked gorgeous in 1080p...

hanshotfirst1138 03-06-16 09:14 PM

Go their customer service e-mail and ask. When I got The Hobbit trilogy on BD, the HD HV codes inexplicably redeemed in SD. I sent Vudu an e-mail asking WTF. They told me to send a picture of the codes. I did, and they fixed the issue.

I just noticed with the recent Roku update, you can now Watch free episodes without having to buy them.

They added a Watch button above the Own button. It streams the episode without adding it to your collection. On the downside, it's only SD. I guess if you want the HDX version, you'll need to buy it (for free).

This is nice. I've always ignored the free episodes, because I didn't want a bunch of junk in my collection. Now I can check them out.

If the story is good, I enjoy my movies just as much on a 12" B&W television as in a movie theater; so HDX is more than good enough. People enjoyed SD for decades you know!

I definitely agree that when you look at individual frames, Blu-ray looks much better. And if you put two TVs side by side, I might be able to notice.

But if I walked into a room in the middle of a movie, I wouldn't be able to tell if it was Blu-ray or Vudu HDX. So that's good enough for me.

I've picked up EVERY free episode ever since they started giving them out- I have over 1200 right now. I never know when I'll have spare time to watch them so I just go through them when I have a short amount of time to fill but not enough time to watch a movie. Gives me a way to see how long they actually keep stuff online too- I noticed "Honey Boo-Boo" has been pulled likely due to what happened to the husband, but last I checked I could still watch the free promo and best-of thing I got a while ago. There's a promo for "The Client List" with Jennifer Love-Hewitt that shows in my library but hasn't been playable for a long time though, it tries to find it but says it can't. I don't worry about this stuff "junking up" my collection since I'd never pay for content on here anyways. (All the movies I have are from UV codes; I try to trade the ones that come with discs for other movies I don't have, but if they come close to expiring I go ahead and redeem them anyways.)

Well, anytime, anywhere there's an internet connection at least. And you know what David Lynch says about watching movies on your phone ;)

But analog TV in the 1940s had fewer digital compression artifacts than standard-def Vudu ;)

You can download movies to your phone/tablet. And you don't need an internet connection to watch them.

I keep around 30 movies on my Samsung Tab, for times when the power goes out and I can't watch TV.
