Friendly reminder that the annual 100 title MD2D limit resets on January 1st, if not sooner. (Except for this year I've always hit the limit well before then, but I've seen posts on another forum that "the great reset" sometimes occurs before the New Year.)

Thanks for reminding me that I still had four titles in my D2D cart from the summer. My converting has dropped off since the first couple years, but I might as well try to get them into this year’s tally.

I was never big on being beholden to streaming and never paid any attention to this. Now that I am splitting my residency (with many old purchases that didn’t include digital copies), maybe I should learn a little more about this program.

You're welcome. I'm getting to the point where I have all the movies I want. Now I'm checking out recommendations. In the BR forum thread some folks said The Fall and
Take Shelter are overlooked gems, so I picked them up.

It's a cool program and would be helpful if you split your time between a couple of places. Pretty simple. Get the Vudu app, go to the D2D section, scan your barcodes, and you're good. This part of the app is GPS-based, so you have to scan at your billing address. (This to prevent you from going to Best Buy and scanning UPCs.) $2 a title, DVD to SD or BD to HD. $5 if you upgrade your DVD to HD. Note that Vudu's new policy of upgrading purchases to 4K when they become available doesn't apply to these conversions.

Movies are still coming out, but not as quickly as in the past. It's a trickle. Overwhelmingly catalog stuff. And earlier this year Disney unsurprisingly pulled all of the Fox movies that used to be a part of the program. But every now and then a new-ish title will join MD2D that gets you thinking, "wow, really?".Like just a few days ago the Jurassic Park 5 film bundle started to qualify.

This spreadsheet has the full list, I think: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...e7rps/pubhtml#
As does this one: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...#gid=402351217
People are good about updating this thread when new movies get added: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=289750

FYI, The Shield complete series is part of the $30 bundles, however these are the old 4:3 standard definition masters. The new 4K 16:9 remasters are only on Hulu and the new BD set.

Looks like the $4.99 weekend deals aren't just a summer thing anymore: https://www.vudu.com/content/movies/...end-Deals/9301

Some good titles in there. I'll probably get True Romance.

Mulan is currently $9.99 for the 4K UHD version.

But, if you have Disney +, there's really no need for it. You can watch it anytime.

I noticed Deerskin was on there for $4.99. May finally check that out.

Edit: Oh, it's on HBO Max too.

True Romance and Atlantic City were on my wish list. Also added the non-vampire Twilight with Paul Newman and the loaded cast.

The list reminds me that I have a BD of Backdraft lying around somewhere. I know I’ve thought about D2Ding it, and it’s eligible, so I wonder if it had issues or if I just never got around to trying it.

Promising Young Woman - $3.99 UHD Rental
https://www.vudu.com/content/movies/...-Woman/1398605

News of the World - $3.99 UHD Rental
https://www.vudu.com/content/movies/...-World/1634020

I'm pretty sure these prices are a mistake. So if you want them, grab 'em quick. You should have 30 Days to start watching the rental.

News of the World has been corrected to $19.99. Which still might be a mistake as it’s not supposed to come out till Friday.

Promising Young Woman is showing as $3.99 for me, though.

It wouldn't let me check out either at that price, same goes with Promising Young Woman. Someone in their IT probably caught the price error and disabled it when they were both at $3.99.

$4.99 weekend deals: https://www.vudu.com/content/movies/...336?offset=136

My picks for underrated comedies: They Came Together and Popstar: Never Stop Stopping. Really funny, if you like your comedy more on the absurdist and jokey side.

I see Threads in that sale (it's not from 2019 like it states, it's from the 80s). Didn't know it was available in streaming (also somewhat surprised that it's available in HDX). It's a very powerful TV movie about nuclear war, if very depressing (in case you found The Day After too cheerful).

I bought Apocalypto. I haven't seen it in years, but remember it being a great movie.
