Shin Godzilla has a few peculiar quirks because it's aimed solely at Japanese audiences but it's a fine Godzilla flick. Better than Hollywood's recent attempts.

Thanks for the heads-up! Instant blind-buy. I've been waiting for this to hit the right price for quite a while now.

I conked out half-way through Shin Godzilla last night, but really liked what I saw. At one hour in I think they could probably have cut 15 minutes of talk and still made their comedic point about Japanese bureaucracy, but the effects are fantastic, and so nice to see great, CGI monster destruction in the daylight. Plus, I really like the new (old) take on Godzilla in general.

Shin Godzilla is my favorite of the newer Godzilla. I love the satire in that one.

I’m looking forward to Japanese version. Is English dubbed remotely decent?

Among this weekend's $4.99 movies is a Ryan Reynolds gambling movie called Mississippi Grind. I have never seen it but heard on a podcast last week that it was a really great movie. Picked it up as a blind buy.

Vudu Launches on Comcast’s Xfinity X1 and Flex

To access Vudu over the Internet on X1 and Flex, Xfinity customers can say “Vudu” into the Xfinity Voice Remote.

Be sure to enunciate! I discovered this was finally available a few days ago and thought it weird that it's not shown as an app you can click on, you have to speak it. Took me several tries before it stopped delivering Hulu and finally opened Vudu!

I guess it's a good sign for Vudu that companies still give a shit.

Checking IMDB, I think they threw the audience for a loop and did the unexpected (unless one notices the title of the movie) as the 4-headed shark grows an additional head during the movie and becomes a 5-headed shark?

Storyline

A four headed shark makes the Puerto Rico coast his private buffet as he chomps on models, photographers, surfers at a surf competition, plus the beach bunnies at the competition on the beach. The police and the aquarium team are at a loss as one by one the 4 headed, now a 5 headed shark , with jaws and a head now at its tail are taking them out now. Will man defeat beast? Who will survive?

They've also added a $4.99 Weekly Film Deal (as opposed to the Weekend deals)

re: The Fandango at Home (Vudu) Thread - News, Bargains & Codes

They said last weekend that there were only two $4.99 winter weekends left. I guess they’re pivoting.

The three-for-$9 has been rotating titles for a few weeks. I bought a set the first week but none since. I’ll check the new batch to see if there’s three I want.

I thought Funny Girl UHD (with MA rights) for $4.99 was pretty good as a choice.

It has just been announced that VUDU is FINALLY OFFICIALLY being released on the Fire TV.

I can't put the link in unfortunately, due to needing more than 30 posts in order to put the link in.

This was honestly unexpected. (Though not really, considering VUDU is no longer owned by Walmart...... so I guess that's a upside.)
