re: The Fandango at Home (Vudu) Thread - News, Bargains & Codes

Nothing really for me this week that I haven't already got, however the Crank movies are just so much damn fun that I'm considering upgrading to UHD.

EDIT: Okay, I guess only the first is available in UHD, at least at Vudu.

Paramount is doing a "summer blowout" sale on digital. $7.99 for UHD including the latest Terminator, Rocketman, Gemini Man, The Rhythm Section, and some others.

Does Vudu have any active coupon codes or anything like that, other than the ongoing sales of course?

This has always kinda bothered me. For those of us that bought the Blu Ray set we initially could only redeem that via Flixster. UV transferred the episodes individually therefore VUDU didn't register it as an owned season. The bonus features are categorized as their own set. Therefore, the collection of Bonus Features isn't owned in that scenario. Not sure it is worth $20 for just those. As of now if we want to watch those we can use our discs.

Wonder Woman complete TV HD is on sale for $20, and Smallville for $50, part of a DC Fandom sale. I think thats the lowest I have seen WW.

I am in the same boat with the flixster redeem. Right now, I have $10 in vudu credit, so I might upgrade to get the extras for $10

Thanks...the lowest I've seen SMALLVILLE before is in the $100 range. That's a great deal at $50 - doubtful it will be that low again for a while.

Yeah, Smallville is always $100. I have the seasons in a mishmash of DVD, HD DVD, and BD, so this is a good opportunity, even though I already have the first two seasons from some past sale.

And yeah, I have that annoying Flixster/UV Batman redeem.

For the few that know about the Russian movie Sputnik, it's now out on digital. I've read reviews and many say it's almost on par with Alien. It's available on Vudu, for $19.99.

A bunch of new $5 and $10 credits have shown up in a new display at Walmart stores packaged with cheap BDs.

$4.99 weekend deals: https://www.vudu.com/content/movies/...end-Deals/7960

Boo to the UHD version of Vertigo being full price. And I am legit shocked that Soul Man made it through the Great Offensiveness Purge of 2020 unscathed AND is being highlighted by being on sale.

To say that movie hasn't aged well would be an understatement.

No, but if I recall, the one time I saw it the movie highlighted being black and stereotypes. All I really remember is C Thomas Howell taking a "tanning pill" that makes him black.

Yeah, why is this movie still around? That's some Song of the South type of offence here.

I saw it when I was a kid and thought it was average at best. (And that's at an age when almost any movie you see is awesome.) The only things I remember about it are a girl he sleeps with saying she doesn't see black or white (just "shades of gray") and a fantasy sequence where he's having dinner with a girl's parents and her dad pictures him as a pimp eating watermelon. Elsewhere I vehemently argued against erasing episodes of 30 Rock and Community, but yeah, this one is not a hill I would choose to die on.

fucking fantastic! I haven’t been freaked out by a movie in a long time and this had me on edge the entire film. Simply fantastic. This is a must see sci-fi creature film. Must see!

Tres...hope you don’t mind I borrow this post and post in movie forum. People need/should see this if fan of genre or just really well made, low budget, foreign films.

Definitely. I thought it was a pretty neat movie. I wish it got more exposure.

I bought Soul Man since it was on their weekend deals for $4.99. I've never seen it but want to see what the fuss is about.

neat? This was pure edge of your seat sci-fi horror/suspense that truly has never been done and an ending that is just, well, amazing and surprising.

The Danzig movie "Verotika" is on sale for 5.99 - anyone willing to take one for the team and report back? (I'm not, sorry.) Final takeaway from Bloody Disgusting:
Spoiler:
"Verotika has a future as a midnight movie in the same vein as The Room. There’s plenty of entertainment and plenty of laughs to be had, even if I’m not sure it’s what director Danzig originally intended."

Thinking about it now.... Danzig = Tommy Wiseau?

At any rate, I won’t be taking one for the team on this one.
