re: The Fandango at Home (Vudu) Thread - News, Bargains & Codes

So has anyone bought anything from the DC Fandome digital sale.

I've only bought a few things as I expect a lot of this content to make it's way to HBO Max at some point.

I bought:

Batman: The Complete series (1966)

The Death and Return of Superman

Batman Hush

Most of the live action movies I already own on 4K disc or Digital. I don't want to get Joker as it's on HBO Max and while it's good, I don't think it's very rewatchable.

Tempted for Supergirl but it is SD only.

S3 is part of D2D on Vudu. That’s how I got all off them.

I picked up Justice League Unlimited seasons. I debated Justice League but I really liked JLU.
On the fence about Superman set, either 1-4 or 1-5. But haven't pulled the trigger yet. I've got the DVD tin collection DVD from years back, but wouldn't mind upgrading, at least S1-3 (I liked 3.)
Everything else I might want, I've already got.

Nothing for me in the 4.99 sales the last two weeks, but it’s interesting how much anime they’ve started throwing in there.

They’ve been putting a lot of interesting selections in their 5.99 and Indie/film fest features. I was excited to see The Third Man in there recently but it was SD only.

Verotika came out as a Blu-ray earlier. It's basically an anthology of three sexploitation horror tales, ranging from acceptable b-movie quality to cringe-inducing goofiness. Kayden Kross serves as the narrator/host. Probably works best sharing with friends over a stout drink.

i got the Smallville and WW TV sets. As you say, I already own a lot of the stuff, and figure a lot of it will be available on HBO. I’d consider more animated stuff like Justice League, Batman Beyond, and Legion of Superheroes, but the prices haven’t blown me away (looks like the best deals were on iTunes), and I haven’t really been in the mood to watch those series lately. I haven’t even cracked the Batman TAS set I got a year or two ago.

I got Smallville. Would've picked up Batman and Wonder Woman live action but they raised the prices when they put everything else on sale, so screw them.

I also bought season 1 of Superhero Girls and JL Action, mainly because I highly doubt they come out on Blu and they're quick hit series anyway. Again, I would've bought Brave and the Bold had they not raised prices.

Smallville. It's going to be a long time before it is that cheap again, and even though I have most of the series on DVD already, an HD digital copy of it was too good to pass up.

I bought the Wonder Woman tv series on Vudu. I'm guessing it was part of the sale.

I'm probably gonna cave and get Real Life since it's not on Blu-Ray and I've been needing to see it. Trying not to 'buy' any more digital movies without watching them immediately as I have a huge backlog of them, but have some stuff to review for the site before I can watch this. There's a YouTube video begging Criterion to put it out.

I might get some of the $4.99 titles that I’ve never owned on any format but wouldn’t mind watching now and then: Unstoppable, Last Action Hero, Sneakers, Eraser, etc.

Sneakers is GREAT! Love that movie.

Unstoppable is pretty good as well. If you watch it, listen to this Reawatchables Podcast with QT afterwards. As you'd imagine, it's an entertaining listen.

I rented Unstoppable myself years ago but think the wife might dig it too. Kinda searching for new things to watch during quarantine.

I saw Unstoppable in the theater and really enjoyed it. If you're looking for a new TV show to watch, I highly recommend Teenage Bounty Hunters on Netflix.

Get the hell out of here with grouping Downton Abbey with hat movies. That’s damn primitive.
