Wow, Bringing Out the Dead finally in HD? Shit, I'll be getting that one for sure!

so if the movie Tully doesn't show the digital + bluray option, does that mean it won't closer to or on release date next Tues (7/17/18)?

Seriously, they even have movies like Fast Times where he played bit parts. Although, they're missing the Disney films like National Treasure, Con Air, Gone in 16 Seconds, The Rock, etc.

I'll probably pick up 7-8 titles. I'm missing a few from the 80's & 90's like Birdy, Rumble Fish, Guarding Tess, Bringing Out the Dead, Vampire's Kiss, Racing With the Moon, Moonstruck.

On a side note, seeing them all together reminds me of how many great movies Cage has been in over the past 35 years. He might be stuck in DTV crap now. But he's had some amazing roles.

Yeah, I probably would've gotten The Rock, Con Air, National Treasure, etc.

8MM is on MA. But it’s spelled with an Eight instead of the number.

I checked iTunes, and they have the same 1.85:1 version that all the other stores have. So the only OAR option is the MA app.

That's annoying. A customer-friendly service would allow a search to find those kinds of title variations--words vs. numerals, "doctor" vs "dr.", etc.

Just thought I'd post it since watching Bringing Out the Dead yesterday -- Vudu also has After Hours in HDX for $9.99. Folks say that BOTD is a remake of that and Taxi Driver.

I mostly buy new Blu-Ray movies for that exact reason, because it is bundled with a DVD and a digital code, which is a great deal for me.

Ok, I’m sorry, I know I asked this but totally forgot...is there a way without giving my info to a friend they can see my movies, in Vudu, MA or something? I think someone said something about they can see through google play? But don’t remember anything or how to do it. Thanks and sorry for asking again...

They can log into MA on a Roku and join your account by you logging into your account on your home computer using the code on their TV screen, without you giving then any of your log-in information. And they can't make any purchases on your account that way

And if they don’t have Roku?

If they want to watch your movie collection, they can buy a fucking Roku. They're like
$30 $30
.

But I guess you could maybe do it on other streaming devices. Xbox and PS4 do not have a MA app. My dad's Samsung Smart TV didn't either. I doubt either a Fire Stick or an Apple TV have a MA app since their proprietary service is already MA linked, but I honestly don't know.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

Maybe we should have a dedicated thread for instructions on how Oldboy's friends and family can watch his movies for free? ;)

Anyway, the fandom sale is interesting, but I'm not sure if there are five items that I need that wouldn't be blind buys. I have two of the 12 Monkeys seasons. I've seen one episode of Killjoys and none of The expanse.

Note that there's also a Geek Essentials bundle with six of the same selections for 19.99 (Lucy, Scott Pilgrim, Shaun of the Dead, The Thing, Wanted, Paul).

I did pick up Firefly for 6.99 (not in the mix-and-match sale).

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

Picked up the excellent 12 Monkeys seasons 1-3 and the equally excellent The Expanse seasons 1-2

Great sale and resisting going back for more...

Decker 07-17-18 06:47 PM

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

Expanse is owned by Amazon now, right? That won't be going anywhere.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

I want to participate in the Mix & Match, but get stuck after Magicians Season 3, KillJoy Season 2 &3. I don't want any of the movies (since I have most of them already). I guess I could do Happy Season 1 and Blood Drive Season 1...but I'm afraid I would not like at least one of them. Decisions, decisions.

Also I'm tempted by Xena: Warrior Princess season 1-4 which are $4.99 due to the Super Fandom regular sale. But seasons 5 & 6 aren't even available and I own all of them on DVD. I'm sorta of talking myself out of this one, lol.

Is Live Free or Die Hard Unrated worth it for $5?

I have the series on BD, but the Unrated version isn't on there. I do have the Unrated version on DVD.

But, I've heard extremely mixed things about the HD & Unrated version. I know $5 is pretty cheap, but I just wanted to hear anyone who's watched the Unrated version in HD and what they think?

OldBoy 07-19-18 08:15 PM

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

if you have the regular version there is not much here that makes it UR. a yippee ki yay with the F-bomb and some bad cgi blood. nothing else, i believe was added to make it even worth $5 imo...

davidh777 07-19-18 08:19 PM

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

I agree with Oldboy--there's not much to make it worth the upgrade. If you're converting your library to digital, then sure, but not if you're generally going to be watching the BD.

Figured the added stuff wasn’t worth it.

Thanks I’ll save my $5.

You know as stupid as it may be, I am somewhat a completist/OCD and I don’t have the UR in HD. Ugh, decisions...

You can do a M2D conversion to get the Unrated version for just $2.
