^ Prices went up to $9.99.
It's already in effect for non-members, the rest of us have until October 2016.
Netflix needs to be careful with those random hikes like that.

What do you mean non-members? You mean people who aren't grandfathered in on their rates? New members have to pay $9.99 and the everyone else will get the hike eventually.

I wouldn't mind it so much if they had just announced a major acquisition. But a few days ago they lost the entire Epix library. Hundreds of popular, big name movies were dropped. So we're getting less, and now they want us to pay more.

There is an occasional must watch like Longmire or Daredevil, but I don't watch most of their original series and find myself watching Hulu more and Netflix less. I will probably drop down to the single stream for Netflix when the price hike catches up to current members since I watch it so little I rarely need the second stream.

Quick question, never had Netflix, thinking about getting it, can someone tell me if all of Sons of Anarchy is on there? Been wanting to watch that.

Netflix renewed Orange is the New Black for 3 more seasons (thru season 7). This isn't a surprise, and they likely got a great deal on it (Lionsgate imploded on the market today due to horrible returns in the last quarter.)

Re: Netflix - News & Discussion
I have the basic "Two-device" plan and I have been watching Netflix streaming on my Roku device. I just bought a "Smart TV" and it offers Netflix access as well. I'd rather watch Netflix via the TV as the sound is better.
Does my PC count as one device and the Roku a second? Or can I add the Television to my plan as it stands? If not, is there a reasonably uncomplicated way to switch the second device? I don't want to go to a more expensive plan right now.
I'd appreciate any info.

The "Two Device Plan" means two streams playing at the same time. You can register as many devices as you want.

I am curious how The Get Down will do for them, it's rumored to have a $120m budget ($10m/episode) and is airing in a half-season now, half season later format.

There is no way that is $10 mil per episode. Wouldn't that be more than GoT? Got to check that source Rich...

I don't often listen to them when they start spouting off ridiculous numbers for movie advertising and "break-even" sums but a lot of people seem to so

I would bet a lot of that is tied up in the first episode. World building is a lot more expensive than world sustaining.
The first episode of Boardwalk Empire cost $18 million, but that included the cost of sets that were used for the rest of the run.
