I’ve been waiting for that to pop up for a few days but still nothing...

I finally got the energizer on the screensaver (Space one). I got the Lexus one on the sidebar. Different Rokus, Roku's, Rokii?

Re: The Roku Thread

Weird issue: I'd been using the free black screensaver for a year. I loved it because my television would turn off automatically after ten minutes because it would detect no video output. This was perfect if I fell asleep watching something.

https://image.roku.com/developer_cha...2a415cf19d.png

Anyway, the screensaver updated itself about a week ago to include optional time and weather displays. Since then, it's been wonky as hell. If you pause a video and the screensaver kicks in, it boots you out of the app and takes you back to the home screen. Also, now the white light on the front of the Roku never shuts off even when the screensaver is running. This never happened before the update. I did a system reset and reinstalled the screensaver, but it didn't fix anything. Right now, I'm using the aquarium screensaver instead. It corrects the issues, but I still don't like. I notice it causes my Roku to run warmer to the touch when sitting idle than it did with the black screensaver.

I didn't know there was a black screensaver, that would actually be useful to me. I have the clock on mine right now, which is also useful as it's minimal and a good source for the exact time.

Hope so in order to see WW84 in 4K and Atmos via Roku Ultra instead of 2K and 2 channel via Laptop connected to TV via HDMI.

It’s arriving tomorrow. Roku and HBO Max already confirmed on their social media accounts.

Right after I posted this, I noticed the update in the HBO Max thread. LoL. Finally might use the service more than just the stuff on the HBO app on Roku.

FYI I had to delete the regular HBO app on Roku, then reinstall HBO Max app to get it to work.

Interesting...When I went to the Roku site and looked up HBOMax it said it was already installed. I'm guessing they just upgraded my HBO app.

Our HBO app was already updated to HBO Max when we started our Roku. I clicked it and was already vlogged in (per being logged into HBO prior to that update)

DC Universe is now dead on Roku.

Not surprised. Now that it's only comics, there's no point to keeping it on a video streaming device. You can use it on your iPad or Amazon Fire tablet.

The HBO Max Roku app really needs an update. It crashes a lot. Takes probably 3 to 4 times to get going.

Haven't had that issue yet, but it seems the 'resume' function is kind of iffy. I have gone in to finish a film and it started at the beginning.
Weird.

It's definitely a little janky, but I haven't had any crashes yet.

This will make WW84 so much fun to watch.

Re: The Roku Thread

I've been trying what was suggested in (I think) the HBO Max thread--when the app is loading and the HBO home screen is visible, I press the 'down' or 'right' buttons and that usually lets the app fully load. Once the app is loaded and I'm watching stuff, I haven't had any issues, with the exception of the audio glitching briefly a couple of times last night. Been watching today with no glitches.

The WB announcement about its 2021 theatrical slate was the push I needed to finally consolidate how I stream. Up until now, I'd use my UHD player for Netflix and YouTube, my TV (with Bluetooth audio) for Amazon and Disney+, and my PC for Shudder and HBO Max. I bought a Roku Ultra and couldn't be happier. It's so convenient to have everything all in one place.

I was shocked at just how many channels there are! I was interested in any recommendations some of you might have. Any must-have channels that people might overlook? Any private channels you'd recommend?

Lots of good free content on the Roku channel.

I also recommend these free services.

Tubi
Filmrise - Filmrise also has several sub channels that are organized by various genres like action, horror, comedy, documentaries.
Flashback 80s - Non stop 1980s music video channel.
Pluto TV
Xumo

Re: The Roku Thread

I noticed Airy TV requires a code to install. When I was installing it, Roku gave a warning before proceeding.

This might be normal when adding a private channel. As it is my first, I didn't know.

E Unit 01-03-21 07:52 PM

Re: The Roku Thread

Yep, that’s the standard process when adding a private channel.
