This is all hardball negotiation tactics similar to what CBS or FOX does when they have to negotiate deals with YouTube TV or DirecTV.
From the sound of everything, it seems like Roku is being stubborn because they want a bigger piece of the pie. Peacock has a free ad supported tier and it looks like Roku wants a big cut of that ad revenue. |

Basically to make a long story short. NBC is going to cut off usage of the NBC app, SyFy, E!, Bravo, USA, CNBC and MSNBC.
But in order to use those apps, you have to have a cable, IPTV or satellite log-in. I think the NBC app gives non cable people a limited amount of free ad supported content. If you don't watch NBC or any of it's cable subsidiaries, then this squabble probably doesn't mean anything for you. But NBC's regular app does have a lot of catalog content on it that Hulu doesn't have. |

Comcast threatened to pull the apps as negotiations over Peacock continued; this included 11 network apps, 12 NBC-owned stationed apps, and 23 Telemundo apps. Both Comcast and Roku pointed fingers at each other for walking away from ongoing negotiations at the time, but just hours after the announcement came, word came that a deal, which would include Peacock landing on Roku, was imminent. Peacock is still unavailable on Amazon Fire TV devices. |

Glad this is finally worked out. I read an article this morning that not only was NBC Universal pulling all the aforementioned apps but also any affiliate app (ie local station apps - news etc). I forget the number of apps quoted as being pulled in the article but it was large.

The Peacock app for Roku is available and can be found by using search in the Channel Store. Just look for Peacock TV (there are two unrelated screensavers apparently involving peacocks). I installed it about an hour and a half ago and watched one show to make sure it is working. Of course, the free platform mostly exists as a teaser to sign you up to Premium.

My TCL Roku TV does know that I have the Peacock TV commerical free plan while my Roku devices are still showing commercials.

Ready to toss mine out the window, so I need some help :lol: Colors are washed out when trying to view 4K HDR content
Here is setup: Samsung 65" Class KS8000 4K SUHD TV, Model Number: UN65KS8000FXZA (UHD is turned on for all HDMI ports) Roku - 2.0-Channel Smart Soundbar - Black Model: 9101R (using ARC HDMI port) Monoprice High Speed HDMI Cable - 6 Feet - Black| Certified Premium, 4K@60Hz, HDR, 18Gbps, 36AWG, YUV, 4:4:4 - Ultra Slim Series Roku setup detects 4K HDR 60hz TV for my setup. However if I go into Netflix (and Vudu as well) and pick a 4K HDR show, the shows menu is bright, but right before it loads goes a little dark, and then the show plays with washed out colors. If I switch display in Roku to 4K 60hz TV, and repeat above, the content is bright and colorful. Any advice? |

I’ve been having that issue on my TCL 4K roku tv.
Anything with hdr comes up washed out. Ive had to restart the tv a couple times to get it back to normal each time this happens. |

I really noticed it when watching Emily in Paris on Netflix. Being set in Paris with all this high fashion, it just felt like colors should be popping more.

The top pic looks completely over saturated. It sounds like currently you are forcing an HDR mode on non-HDR content (since you said you changed it from the auto-detected 4K HDR 60hz TV to 4K 60hz TV). Leave it on 4K HDR 60hz as was auto-detected if you want it to be correct. Your eyes will adjust to the more natural picture after awhile. Usually selecting the Cinema/Movie picture mode will get you closest to well calibrated settings. Check your model out on Rtings or somewhere similar for suggested picture settings.

Yeah I think I am going to default all the settings and start over. For the record, the above content is a 4K HDR show on Netflix.

Have you tried the recommended settings for your model on rtings.com? Those are pretty good and requires only a little bit of tweaking if you want to.
