Update time:

Finally after 3 days and 12 email messages, I've got an answer I'm happy with .

Here's a tip fellow DVDtalkers. If you get no reply from orders@amazon then sent an email to feedback@amazon and state how this is not the sort of service you have come to expect from them. I got a solution within 2 hours.

My feedback was then bumped to orders and it has been upgraded to International Express Postage ( an option that would normally cost about me $21.25 US ( about $40AU ). So I should have it in 1-4 business days ( to Australia ).

Based on my experience I'm gonna have to take back everything I've said about Amazon over the last few days . Think it's just a matter ( in my case anyway ) of getting over the distance communication problem and finding the right department to help you .

Hope this helps anybody else who's got their orders help up for some reason

I think Amazon makes a big mistake sometimes by shipping UPS. Here it is Thanksgiving week, my Gladiator shipped out on Monday. I live basically across the street from UPS. My package got its arrival scan at 6:50 this morning, but it says it's not being delivered until next Tuesday. Since I've got so much through UPS, I've gotten lucky and got ahold of the local number, so I called them up. They aren't delivering anything that is UPS Ground today, cause they've got 9 trailers of stuff sitting there. I've got today off and was hoping to watch Gladiator. Well, I had orders from CDNOW and everyone's favorite Express.com both ship out the same day as my Amazon order. I got those today. Why? Because they used the good ol' post office.

I had my order ship from Amazon on Wednesday and it arrived today. I guess you can tell they didn't ship it UPS.

Amazon shipped my X Men, Gladiator and Chicken Run on Monday by USPS. Two of them arrived on Wednesday and one today. Much better then my recent orders from Buy.com which not only shipped my last four orders late but also shipped them by UPS. It seems like these days the USPS is more effecient then UPS.

I truly had hopes of watching X-men during the Thanksgiving break, but..... I'm pretty disappointed. My friend who ordered X-men from Buy.com got hers LAST Saturday. If I think about it to hard I get mad.

I've never ever had problems with Buy.com. Hopefully, this won't be the pattern for future Amazon orders.

Amazon.com is back to normal for me, they are now shipping items in less than 24 hours. I guess they were f'd up last week.

You can read my long drawn out story here: http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/Forum7/HTML/005917.html

I just called them up again today. I talked to an order specialist. Apparently, according to them, shipping will not be covered on an order placed with a promotional (non-stackable) gift certificate. My promo one was for $10 and the rest was paid in regular gc's. The customer service rep was very helpful and nice. She waived all shipping charges, even though they are going to ship it 2nd day. She said it would ship by Monday, and it would be here by Wednesday. If not, I am going to cancel and go buy elsewhere. The idea of taking 3 full weeks to ship an item that has been out 3 weeks is absurd.
