Re: Warning: Amazon
I've never had issues with Amazon as far back as I can remember, but I've had two packages disappear en route to my house and the status just shows Carrier Delay Has Occurred. It was a humidifier filter so I could use extras, so I placed another order and got it right away. I left the other one open for a couple weeks and there was no status update during that time so I finally cancelled it and have to wait 3-5 days for a refund. Now I'm dealing with a CD in stock with next day delivery that is stuck in the same Delay status again for 4 days now.

Re: Warning: Amazon
Definitely try the online chat option (which now appears to be powered 100% by AI) before calling in the problem.

Re: The complaining about Amazon thread
Yeah, I can't remember the last time I called Amazon for a problem. Chat seems more convenient. And the other benefit is that there's a written record of what they promised to fix a problem. Unfortunately, I've had to use the chat history several times in the last few months, as promised credits or refunds did not happen, but it's easier dealing with it on the second contact, because I just tell them to look at the chat history for what I was promised and didn't happen, and I don't have to relitigate the whole issue. They just have to confirm I didn't get the credit or whatever, and then they process it again.

Re: The complaining about Amazon thread
Is there a way to go through all the regional coupons to find out which apply to me? For example I assume I'm "West" but I've never seen a West coupon.

Re: The complaining about Amazon thread
Not a complaint but I wondered why all of a sudden everything from Amazon was now 2-4 days out. Fire and sprinkler damage at the huge warehouse 20 minutes away. -eek-
|
Re: The complaining about Amazon thread
Damn. That's a big hit locally on inventory.
Guess you gotta switch to Temu. ;) j/k |

So we should expect to be receiving smoke/fire/water-damaged merchandise from Amazon until all of the material from that warehouse turns around.

Re: The complaining about Amazon thread
Ooooohhh...
Here's a new one. Amazon sent me a USED toilet plunger today. Maybe it's just dirt. But the toilet plunger and brush and combo base and packaging are all separated and the plunger has spots and scuffs on it and the base has grime on it and I don't care if it's just a little dust or dirt because it's a toilet plunger and I don't know where it's been and just no. No, no, no, no, NO. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/dvdtalk...93ad4a46c7.jpg |
Re: The complaining about Amazon thread
You're going to have to smell it and report back to us ASAP.

Replacement set arrived today in brand-new condition.
Good. Carry on. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/dvdtalk...912ecf5d6a.jpg |
Re: The complaining about Amazon thread
Did they let you keep the one with free poop?
|
Re: The complaining about Amazon thread
Absolutely NOT. They sent me a strongly-worded email that if I don't return it immediately they will charge me for it.
*If you don’t send the original item(s) back to Amazon, by this date, you authorize us to charge the original payment method or any other valid payment method in your Amazon account for the item that you are keeping, including applicable taxes and fees. |
Re: The complaining about Amazon thread
Now they can sell that poop-covered toilet brush to someone else and share the love.

That used toilet brush was used by Bezos himself, you should have kept it.

Re: The complaining about Amazon thread
Bought a pack of batteries and a tube of hand cream on Friday. Package I just received had a box of tea bags and a bottle of some strange looking ginger tablets in it. Can't recall ever receiving a package that hilariously wrong before.
Also, it appears there is no way to connect to a person via either call, email, or direct chat through Amazon app anymore. Hell, it took me a while to even find a useless AI chatbox. I had to process as "received the wrong item" but I had no way of including an image or describing what I received. Not hopeful my refund will process correctly. |
Re: The complaining about Amazon thread
Yeah, you basically got someone's else's order, packed in your box. I had the same thing happen once. I think I just indicated "wrong item received" on the order and then returned the whole box and got a refund. Then had to reorder the correct item again.
If you want to talk to someone, you just have to tell the chatbot "ask an associate" and you'll eventually be able to get to an option where you can chat with a human or have a human call you on the phone. |
Re: The complaining about Amazon thread
Although not directly Amazon related, I bought a small part from a seller on eBay. $4ish with tax, no shipping. Turns out they are using Amazon shipping with the TBAxxxxx tracking number. "Left the carrier facility" in my town this past Monday, the 19th. Then nothing but now states,
On the way, but running lateWe're very sorry your delivery is late. If we get a new expected delivery date, we'll update you here.Perhaps the package slipped between the seats, hidden among the french fries, and they can't find it. |
Re: The complaining about Amazon thread
A new one to piss me off...
I was looking to get a few wifi CO/Smoke detectors. One seller offers them at a 50% discount if you purchase 3, which sounded ideal. Trying to add 3 to the cart results in a message that the seller is limiting them to 2 per customer. Another seller has the 50% discount if you buy 2, and of course they limit the sale to 1 per customer. Dirty bastards. I reported it to amazon, but of course, they will do fuck all, as usual. If I didn't fear the possibility of the "too many returns" ban, I'd order the limit from each seller, and then return them as defective, just to screw them. Also annoying is that Amazon US offers multi-packs of them, to save money. Amazon Canada has no such deals. |

Is this still happening out there?! |

Is this still happening out there?! In your situation, I think clothes are probably on the low end of the scale, for the very reason you state. I haven't seen it lately, but amazon used to specifically mention easy returns for clothes, due to fitment issues. |
Re: The complaining about Amazon thread
I got 3 or 4 orders cancelled because I did so many returns and now trying to cut down since that scared me.
I buy 2 copies of every Blu-ray and return the one in inferior condition. Sometimes I keep both which i do one to watch and one to collect. I usually don't return any clothes or essential items but media products that is a different story. |
Re: The complaining about Amazon thread
That's interesting. I didn't know you received any kind of warning. Regardless, it seems an odd thing to do, to cancel an order. Or was it the seller that cancelled?
I could certainly see the buying 2 copies approach leading to issues, as the pattern would be pretty obvious. |

Do you understand how much money that costs them to manage? Assuming you have Prime, they're eating the cost of shipping to you, the cost of you shipping it back, and the processing by whomever has to deal with checking it in. They're canceling orders because every time you return a movie, you eliminate the profit they made from the one you kept.
But on the other hand, I can understand it because Amazon has developed a really bad habit of both poorly packaging items that will probably be damaged during shipping and sending out items that are damaged before they're even put in a box or envelope. Back when I was a regular Amazon user, I'm surprised they didn't ban me because I was sending so much stuff back because it was beat to shit during shipping... including a couple of $100+ blu-ray boxed sets had to be sent to me three times before I got ones that weren't fucked up because they just dropped it unprotected into an over-sized shipping box. |
Re: The complaining about Amazon thread
If you care that much about the item being in collector's condition, probably best to buy from B&M where you can see what you're getting. IMO

Re: The complaining about Amazon thread
I hate how random they are about fulfilling steelbook 4K orders even when you pre-order them the day the pre-order goes live. They messed me up on Sinners. My Kingdom of Heaven order finally shipped and that's due in on Sunday.
Also, Jeff, stop doing that shit please. |
Re: The complaining about Amazon thread
Resale copies of Sinners Steelbook now hitting Amazon at $120+

I could certainly see the buying 2 copies approach leading to issues, as the pattern would be pretty obvious. I checked my email and Amazon would cancel them automatically So far most of my orders have gone though and they offered me a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime I only get it for Sept-Dec for the Thurs NFL games since when I have prime I could buy 5 blu-rays and they don't ship them in a box but 3 or 4 bubble mailers. Yeah, and I wouldn't be surprised if they don't eventually ban him for it. Also when the mailer has a tear or opening and then dirt or debris is probably in the package messing up your items. Still waiting after all these years to get a Batman Complete Animated series Blu-ray set in close to pristine condition but every one of them has dings and dents along the corners but maybe that is a Warner Bros manufacturing problem. Not a lot of places to go in store and browse the inventory to find Blu-rays in perfect condition packaging. |

Re: The complaining about Amazon thread
Amazon Prime just keeps getting worse. I rarely get anything delivered within 48 hours like before. Just recently, I ordered a DVD. I was tracking the delivery on Amazon and it went from out for delivery/on it's ways, with a status of "arriving today" to "now expected by July 24" within seconds. Now, how in the hell does that happen!?

I got my Jaws 50th anniversary 4k Discs and the envelope had a big tear.

Re: The complaining about Amazon thread
I mentioned above that I purchased an upgraded AMD CPU and some thermal compound and opted for a delayed delivery, about a week later.
The CPU arrived timely, but immediately before they informed me the thermal compound was delayed another week. I just went in to check and see that the product listing indicates if I purchase it, I can have delivery tomorrow. Well, shoot, deliver mine tomorrow instead of Friday. |
