They're 3 for 4 so far with my recent orders. I received Fight Night Round 3 for my Xbox 360 today, and my other two orders were on time. I'm still waiting for my damn controller, though. As I noted in my earlier post, I received the toothing ring that was part of the order, but according to the website, the controller hasn't even shipped yet. And they haven't responded to my email yet.

I received the one item I ordered from them during this deal yesterday (Gears of War). It indicated in stock on the webpage when I ordered. Placed the order on 11/28, got a shipping notice almost a full week later on 12/4 with a tracking number that never changed from the usual "USPS has been notified to expect this package for shipping" or whatever that is, and it arrived on my doorstep a full week after shipping yesterday. I feel really lucky that my order arrived, that it was the correct item, and that it was in good shape, but I'm definitely not going to be ordering from them again.

FYI: There is a sorting facility for both UPS and DHL/Airborne in Hebron KY. They are located just outside the Cincinnati/Northern KY Airport.

Today is 14 days since they stated my books were shipped. They seem to refuse to send me replacements or give me a refund.

If it was shipped media mail they have to allow 15 business days (that means 6 days per week) before the USPS will declare a shipment lost. This is what DeepDiscountDVD told me when an order was lost that shipped during their 20% off sale. So after that point then call back and insist they give you a refund/or send you a replacement order.

They told me it should be there within 10 days.... I responded it's been longer... He told me to just keep waiting because there is nothing they can do.

Xbox 360 Wireless Controllers aren't in short supply or anything. What the hell is so hard about shipping my controller already?

Update:

After several additional and very nasty emails to CS, Buy.com said they shipped the balance of my order made on 11/22 (2 Simpson Sets). I filed a formal complaint with the New York State Attorney General's office based on Buy.com's refusal to ship items that their website says is in stock. After I told Buy.com that I had filed the complaint and the AG said they would investigate it, lo and behold my order ships. But did the order it really ship? From other posts in this forum, it appears that they could possibly be printing shipping labels without actually shipping anything just to chill us out. We'll see in a couple of days if the delivery confirm number shows a package actually going some where.

Anyway, we should keep the pressure on them.

I filed a BBB complaint on 12/11 on recieved a notice this morning that my item shipped on 12/12, but as you said, we'll see. Their tracking numbers are all but useless. I and others have noted that it will say the package has been accepted, and it won't update for weeks, so who knows when they actually put it in the system.

Well, after my numerous complaint emails, Buy.com has shipped one of the two outstanding items of my order. Or so they say anyway. Coincidentally, it just so happens to be the one I highlighted in all my examples of the item being In Stock on their site, yet they were claiming it was backordered.

And, they seem to continue to skirt the question about whether the items are actually in stock or not and totally ignore my requests to have the charges credited back to my card for items that they have not yet shipped. I'm not appeased by this one item that is supposed to have shipped.

Fired off another email to them and called their customer service #. Spoke to a guy named Marvin Smith with an indian accent. Boy, are they useless. I was even-tempered in my requests, countered all of the pre-fabricated responses, asked him to actually try and do something for me rather than trying to blow me off, and yet he was still unwilling to make any effort at all to help me out or find me someone that could. Oh, btw, supervisors only work between 9-5 PST. There are no supervisors on the night shift (or he just didn't want to transfer me to one).
So...sent a complaint off to the Better Business Bureau and one to the State Attorney's office. Fired off another one to Google Checkout again since Buy.com is passing the buck to them about the charges.
My order is not that expensive that I need to worry about the charges. It's just a mission now since I cannot stand Buy.com's sales practices.

22 days after I ordered two Simpson sets it looks like they have actually shipped. The Delivery Confirmation # for my order indicates that something was actually delivered to USPS in Hebron, Ky. yesterday. Who knows when I'll get it. These sets were meant to be Xmas gifts which is why this whole episode was so frustrating. When you order something before Thanksgiving, you expect to get it before Xmas. Now I don't know if I'll get it to give it in time. I might have to go out and spend extra $$ to get a last minute gift.

In my mind, Buy.com has no excuse for this terrible performance. They should have known full well that the GC promotion would swamp them. Instead, Buy.com apparently didn't prepare and provided the worst possible service. I am truly an ex-Buy.com customer.

Even though my Buy orders got to me in a reasonable amount of time (10-14 days), I probably won't shop there anymore based on the customer complaints here and the fact that my FYE order arrived in four days, my CH order arrived within a week and my monoprice cable came in two days. The whole slower-shipping-due-to-the-holidays doesn't fly at all considering how quickly other vendors are getting their products out.

I've made four orders within the last week and two of the four shipped.

All items were labeled "In Stock" when I ordered them and I chose the "Free Shipping" when I got them.

It's been 3 days since I ordered two of the items, so I'm hoping that they ship soon.

I ordered Pirates of The Carribean as a gift about two weeks ago, it's been in stock for the last 4 days but my status says "on order" and the day I ordered it was "ships in 1-2 business days".

Argggghhh!

Saturday night I ordered Army of Darkness HD-DVD and Miami Vice HD-DVD. Today they shipped. I picked 2 day shipping so hopefully I'll get them by Friday. Although after reading this thread I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

So I finally cancelled my buy.com order after a month of it being on backorder and the status of the products saying "Ships in 1-2 business days". I only got refunded $7.xx outta $37.xx! WHAT IS THAT ABOUT?!

Edit: Ok, maybe someone can help me out here. Buy.com refunded me $27.26. Google reduced that by $20 because I used their $20 off of $50?! Is that for real?! What the flying...WHAT? That is just...uncalled for.

I was skeptical about going back to buy.com when the GCO thing started but I haven't had much trouble with them this time around.

In fact, my GCO history shows 5 orders from buy and 5 orders from dvdplanet over the past two weeks (interspersed about evenly). As far as delivery time goes, buy is easily beating planet (3 recvd, other 2 shipped w/ tracking- planet still has 4 orders in process, including one that I paid UPS 2-day for on the 15th...)

And the 20-off-50 has really gotten me some great deals, so no complaints here, though I am dismayed about the problems others are having.

It's probably not the answer you're looking for, but you should not have cancelled the item. When you did that, you removed it from your order, which no longer totaled over $50 (I'm guessing) and the discount was removed. Is there any way you can contact them back and convince them that you did not want it cancelled, but only wanted it to ship since it was listed as in stock. I think that if buy.com then chooses to cancel the item, if they claim the item can't be ordered, you should be able to use that to convince your CC company that the discount should still apply since it was listed as in stock when ordered. Otherwise, you might be screwed.

I had kind of a similar situation - cancelled 2 DVDs out of an order that also included a filler coloring book. The coloring book shipped, but I decided I didn't want the DVDs (and they were backordered). The refund to my credit card was correct - I only got charged for the coloring book (and their mistake - no shipping!). If you cancelled your entire order, I think you should receive the total amount you were charged - how can they reduce the amount for something you did not receive?
