ANY MODERATORS IN HERE AT ALL???
Where are the mods when you need one?
I am surpised that DVDTalk would allow such an "OFFICIAL" Best Way To Screw Over Your Parents title to even be posted in here!!!!!
Or is this subject sanctioned/condoned by DVDTalk?
As a parent, I for one object and take offense that DVDTalk allows such malicious postings/threads and I encourage other parents reading this thread to make there views known here and NOW!

Here's a little tip.... Set that little link down at the bottom of the post... every post that says 'Report This Post To A Moderator'.

It's like a Mod doorbell. You click that and we come a runnin.

I'd also recommend you read this page: http://www.dvdtalk.com/legal.html

It talks about how we do the best job we can to monitor threads, but with over a million posts its kind of hard for us to read each and every one.

I'll admit that the thread starter is slightly misguided in duping his parents buy buying DVDs under his food budget, but I also know what it's like to be a scrappy student (I was one way back when) and it aint easy to learn that life needs to be lived on a budget.

In any case I have no problem with him reaching out to the forum for advise as if you look at this thread many people are telling him 'Don't Do it'

Mr Kleinman,
Thanks for taking the time to address this issue. Since this is pretty much a public forum, I decided to address this issue as such.
I do not know if you are a parent or not, if you are, I am sure you would not appreciate being "screwed over" by your son! And asking for help/boasting about it in public.
To add insult to injury, since my post, the original thread by whynotsmile has been renamed to " Fitting DVDs into the Mom & Dad Gravey Train" but the objectionable phrase " Official Best Way to Screw Over Your Parents" is still there, in bold!
As moderators you have every right, may I dare say duty/obligation, to delete threads that are malicious, I am sure this one particular thread fits the description perfectly. I have seen DVDTalk do this numerous times for obvious and not-so obvious reasons, why is this thread an exception??? And it leaves no doubt in anyone's mind what the thread starter is trying to accomplish.
Please take my comments for what they are meant to be: constructive criticism!
Thank-you

Nobody requires that you look at this thread. If it offends you, move on. That's all there is to it.
