Price matching

Will stores like Best Buy/Circuit City, etc price match from places on the Web? Or does it have to be a legitimate competitor? Thanks.

When I worked at Best Buy they wouldn't price match any online stores or warehouses.

Nope to BestBuy.

From BestBuy's ad: "Price Guarantee: 30 days from purchase (14 days for select items), if a local competitor (excluding Internet) has a lower price..."

CircuitCity's ad strangely seems to be missing the usual panels of financing information as well as Price Guarantee info in the usual three color square boxes. (Financing information is in the fine print throughout the ad on each page for specific products.) However, I do remember seeing with them that the price must be advertised (not just another store that regularly sells a product for less (shelf price)) and it cannot be an internet retailer.

I dont know if this holds true presently but I have pricematched from Dell.com at Circuit City without a problem. I bought a memory stick at the time. I belive this was right around January of this year.

I think only Sears was PM'ing web based companies, but that may be over by now.
