I've made 2 large purchases w/ Fye.com recently using their 20% off and 15% off coupon codes....

No problems w/ pricing or charging errors
No problems w/ items being placed on hold for long periods of time
No problems w/ shipping in a timely manner

There was 1 problem w/ one of my DVD movies arriving damaged...BUT they were extremely courteous and helpful in getting a replacement w/out any difficulty (they could either ship out a replacement once I returned mine OR I could go to one of their B&M stores and exchange it w/ evidence of purchase such as an online email confirmation printed out).

Then there was a time when my 20% off code was not applied...all I did was call and they happily said they would credit my account...this is a wait-and-see....but so far they have been a very good merchant!

I'd shop w/ them again!

BTW...getting a CSR is not all that difficult based on my experience....all I do is keep on pressing "0" at the message until someone picks up...it's never taken more than 10 minutes!

I had a problem with them. They shipped my order to a PO box via FedEx, and FedEx apparently just picked someone at random from the phone book with my last name and delivered it to them. I emailed them twice a couple of weeks ago, and was never able to get through on the phone.

I was looking at my CC stuff to see how to dispute the charge, when I got an e-mail today (a real response, not canned) saying they were researching the problem with FedEx and will get back to me in 2 days. So they may be slow, but with a little patience they will respond to an e-mail.

[edited to add] You also might check what your spam blocker is keeping out. The header of the email they sent looked like this:
{{JLF85456}} (RLQ723504R72108G0LI)

Darn! I think I got lucky. They sent my order to my PO Box via Priority Mail. No problem.

Since my order consisted of all in-stock items, they filled it in one shipment and charged my CC the correct amount (after 20% off)

Welllllllllllllllllllllllll...

My latest orders [the 3rd & 4th] were placed on Jan 31st. Most were pre-orders & catalog titles. [Quite a few old Eastwood movies & some Anchor Bay Disney titles]

There were 7 pre-orders & 6 titles spread over two orders [to keep it under $100 so I wouldn't have to go through that "address verification BS"].

On the 5th at 7a, I received an email letting me know that one of the AB Disney titles had shipped.

Then [at 8a] they sent another email letting me know that the Money Pit [Released the day before] was backordered.

The last email I received [at 7p] informed me that the rest of my catalog titles were shipped on the 4th.

I received both packages today. I don't know how they were delivered, but they were waiting for me on my porch.

So, I have had NO problems whatsoever with FYE.com. *knocks on wood*

Actually...now that I think about it...I did have ONE problem.

The very first order I placed, I ordered True Romance thinking it was the re-released version for $13.96 [after discount - $11.87]. When the order shipped, it was the old version. So, I brought it to FYE and returned it no problem. Just brought my packing slip. They gave me $15.89 back.

*knocking on wood one more time*

So...this brings me to the conclusion that YMMV.

didn't notice this thread before, i've been placing my gripes in the chabrol set thread. well i got in on the misprice and received an email (i am the only one, wtf?) saying they will ship on release date and i will be charged full price they say ~100 something others say 50 something or 70 something, oh well. nonetheless this is asinine. i agreed to pay x they can not charge me y without getting my authorization. if i had ordered with a credit card i would have let them ship and take it up with them and my credit card company afterwards, but as it stands i ordered it with a debit card (my cc was going to expire by the time the sets shipped), and i can't risk them hold on to $100 of my money while i argue it out with them. so now i have 2 questions.

1. is it possible to change the payment option, and would this have any effect on the cost of my order?

and 2. if i wanted to how could i cancel the order?

I was wondering what would happen with The Man Who Fell to Earth. I checked the status this morning and its listed as shipped. I just have to wait and see if they sent me the Anchor Bay 2-disc one.

I ordered 4 items (all pre-orders) using the 20% coupon. The first came just fine (via 2-day FedEx), but when I check the order status for My Big Fat Greek Wedding, it doesn't indicate that it has shipped yet. I talked to a CSR who felt that it probalby did ship, even though she couldn't give me a tracking number. She indicated that if I hadn't received it by 2/11, then call her back and she would send out another. This makes me wonder whether FYE actually carries an inventory or if they are simply placing orders with a distributor.

Got Six Feet Under...only took a few days. However, I had to deal with them canceling the order, refusing to honor the 20% off coupon again, telling me they'd apply 15% off, only applying 10% off, and then finally re-applying 5% to my credit card.

First and last time with FYE.com.

Exactly, same problem I had, I called back today, and they said they did not receive 2/11 titles so they are trying to fix it, maybe it has been fixed, and I should call back tomrorow to see if they're shipping or not.......getting on my nerves.........

Received my credit card statement yesterday and thought I would doublecheck my FYE charges and found a few mistakes. FYE actually undercharged me on a few orders and several items were never billed to my card. When I checked my order summary on their site the amount charged to my credit card was listed as $0 for these items. Anyone else experience this?

I got my hard copy CC statement yesterday and all charges were correct with my on-line CC summary.

I received my X-Men 1.5 today (release day), shipped via FedEx 2-day. I purchased it with the 20% off coupon, in the same preorder as Thelma & Louise: SE, which was cancelled last week (and I ended up getting for $13.99 at a different B&M).

They charged me correctly for my first shipment- 2 Farscape sets, Be My Valentine Charlie Brown, Chicago Soundtrack- but they never charged for All About Eve, which shipped later. The site shows:

Charge Information:
Amount charged to credit card: $64.62
Amount charged to credit card: $0.00

So the second shipment they charged $0?

Also, the other Farscape set I ordered, which comes out in May, has been re-priced from $24.XX to $9.99. My statement looks like this:

Farscape, Season 3: Vol. 3.2 [2 Discs]
Price: $9.96 Quantity: 1 Item Sub-total: $19.17
Release Date: 5/20/2003
Format: DVD
Item Status: Preordered

So I am paying DOUBLE the listed price? I mean, I know this is a misprice caused by ADV offerring both one and 2 disc versions, but the item summary clearly states it is the 2 discer.

That sounds exactly like what happened to me. I kept looking for additional charges from FYE but they never materialized on my credit card. When I checked my order summary at the site the zero charges appear.

Also I have a few orders were it looks like FYE charged less sales tax than they were supposed too. I don't know if they will catch these mistakes later, but their billing department obviously is a mess. I hate to tell them because I fear they would probably overcharge me trying to correct the errors.
