Was there a specific offer code for the 0% for a year as opposed to 6 months (card offer code 5YBM).???

I got one of those "welcome package" letters but haven't received a card yet? Should I be worried/give them a call?

Yes. Give them a call. I already got the card but haven't gotten the welcome package letter yet. When I receive the card, I noticed that they forgot to add my apartment number to the address. Luckily my mailman know which apartment number I live in. If you live in an apartment, your mail with the card may also be missing an apartment number and got misplaced.

Same with me! I knew I entered it in the application. Not a good thing to screw up.

Very strange... I thought I entered my apartment number too. But when it didn't show up, I just assume I forgot to enter it. But now that someone else also has this problem, I wonder if someone at the other end actually made the mistake. And I wonder how extensive this mistake is. Is it just a few applications that have the apartment number dropped in their address or all?

FYI: I received my card the other day. Also ~ A CSR called me to see what they can do to make my expirence better. At first I said it would be good if I didn't have to pay when I received my bills

He asked when I would like my payment periods to begin and end I actually think that's neat

Yes when I called them that was one of the first questions they asked (re: apt numbers) but that wasn't the case with mine. Apparently they'd sent out a card on the 9th that I hadn't received. And sent out the new card (on that account) on the 28th which I hadn't received either yet (I had called on the 31st). Bottom line is they closed that account and opened a new one for me.

I wish every company would do that so I could budget my payments better. I'm applying today, I'm sold.

Just got my new card with the welcome letter. The new card looks exactly like the previous one they sent out. Don't know why they even bother sending out the second card.

Has anyone use their new amazon.com credit card to buy stuff from amazon.ca? Did the bank turn down the charge from amazon.ca? Anyone know if the amazon.com credit card can only be used to make purchases in the US?

i got the 0% APR for a year. from what i understand when they originally started advertising this new card (i was notified by e-mail) it was 0% for a year. but after a few weeks when they started advertising it on the homepage it stated it was 0% for 6 months. so it looks like it had something to do with when you actually applied for the deal.

BTW, what credit limits have you guys been gettin on this card? i was really surprised that i got an $8,000 limit. i ended up transfering the balances of my two other cards to this one. good deal in my opinion.

I ended up with a $13,500 limit. I started with an $8000, but when I called up to cancel another credit card I had with bank one, they just rolled the $5500 limit I had with that one into my Amazon card.

Did you ask them to roll over the limit to your Amazon card? Or did they do it automatically?

Btw, does anyone know if the bonus points will be acrued by using the card at Amazon.ca?

well i called and tried to sign up for this. they took all of my information and said the card and package was on its way. so yesterday in the mail i get a letter saying that they need a copy of my electric bill and SSN. one of my reasons for signing up was for the GC but with that it probably won't go through so this deal is dead for me. thanks anyway.

Finally got my card in the mail and I was little shocked to see that I had a $2000 credit limit. I've been using (only three) cards for five years now and pay all my bills on time. $2000!

i am shocked about the $8000 limit they gave me considering the i'm a college student and the only other credit cards i've ever had were student cards with the highest limit like $1000. i've barely established my credit. go figure.

I was trying to cancel the one card, and the phone rep was going on and on about why I shouldn't cancel the card. I finally cut in and said that I was only cancelling because I just go the Amazon card which would give me two by the same bank and I wouldn't use the first. So then he said he would roll the limit over to the Amazon and I said ok and that was it. I didn't ask, and I only did it to get the call over with. God help me if I ever reach that limit.

Has anyone received the $20 promo gift cert. yet? I placed and received my first Amazon order with the card close to 7 weeks ago and have not received a thing yet.

Nope. I placed an order at Amazon over a month ago using the amazon.com credit card. Still haven't seen the $20 GC. Is it suppose to be mailed to us through regular mail or email?

I guess we should just reverse the question: when someone DOES get the $20 GC, let us all know!

(not me, yet)

I wrote BankOne asking about the $20 gift certificate I was supposed to receive, and they told me to contact Amazon. I bet if I write Amazon, they will not have a clue when I will be sent the gift certificate.

4-6 weeks from first purchase, sent via email - I saw that in the past day or two but for the life of me can't remember where.

What do you guys think about this....

Have any of you checked your online statements? It seems that purchases are logged like this:

Amazon purchase: AMAZON.COM *SUPERSTOR (Services and Merchandise)
Amazon.ca purchase: AMAZON.COM AMAZON.CA (Services and Merchandise)
Amazon apparel purchase: AMAZON.COM *PAYMENTS (Services and Merchandise)
(other Amazon affiliates are logged the same way)

These all say "AMAZON.COM".... Doesn't that appear to be a good sign as far as getting the 3x points? I know for a fact that when I ordered gift certificates with my NextCard, it qualified. It'd be awesome if we get confirmation that Amazon.ca and especially all the apparel purchases credit at 3x. I guess we'll have to wait until statement time....my statement isn't till around Black Friday (how appropriate).
