Noel, some things cannot be overstated or repeated too often and it warms my heart to see that MJ has been warned off Troma because of this thread. A job well done I think.
Anyhoo I promised Steve at Troma I’d try and keep this thread on the first page and I hate to break my promises.

This thread is three pages long. There's no need for you to continue to harp on them, especially when you haven't had any further dealings with them. You've stated there's really NOTHING they can do to redeem themselves in your eyes. Enough already. Allow the rest of us to make our own decisions. You're a moderator, you should know better.

FWIW, I ordered two titles from Troma last week, and my first email inquiry was answered 15 minutes after I sent it. Several other related messages came unsolicited, all intended to keep me informed as to stock and shipping status. I have yet to receive the order (always the bottom line, I know), but when I do, I'll post it here. In the meantime, I suggest everybody just simmer down.

I'm particularly curious about REAL TIME: THE SIEGE AT LUCAS STREET MARKET (SE) and FATTY DRIVES THE BUS/FAT GUY GOES NUTZOID (SE). And of course the new TOXIC AVENGER and CLASS OF NUKE 'EM HIGH sequel discs. But for now, I'd only pre-order them from middleman supplier like Amazon.

It's here.....
Well, the nice UPS man drove up today and handed me my Troma order. Let's see, ordered and shipped on the 28th, arrived today the 4th; not counting the weekend, that's 4 days enroute. Not too bad, but then the shipping was hefty. I can't complain, especially since they threw in the Dick Tracy Collection as a gift. My advice: email them and see if the title you want is in stock. If so, order away. As I said in my earlier post, the C/S agent (Millie) was quick to respond to my queries and provided me with great service. Highly recommended.

No one should buy from them without understanding the horrible experience they put our members thru.
This company has lied and gotten away with it otherwise. I applaud jonathan.e for his willingness to continue this until everyone is made whole.
I also do not understand why you are taking this so personally. If you do not like this thread ignore it. If you know people at Troma then let them know this is bad publicity and see if those you know will help resolve this for our members.
Keep up the good work jonathan.e

by the way do you want some help bumping this

Thanks gcribbs for the words of support. I will always have time to devote to spreading the word about Troma but should you find this thread languishing on the second page please do bump it.
It’s clear from Noel’s column that he is an admirer of Troma’s movies so it’s understandable he should want them to improve as do I, then it would mean that this thread and all our lousy experiences with them have counted for something. Think for a second Noel, without this thread and the intervention of Geoff and apparently even Lloyd Kauffman, would their etail division have improved even slightly (if it has) ? I believe it is only the pressure that we have applied coupled with the adverse publicity from this forum that has brought about any CC refunds or actual shipment of product. It is important that this remains visible because, as gcribbs points out, there are still people with outstanding issues and we owe it to them to not slacken off until EVERY single problem is sorted out.
On a personal note I am shocked to read in one of the posts above that Millie is still an employee. It speaks volumes about Troma that people instrumental in this mess are still in gainful employment with them.

Well, there's one success story. All we need is a couple dozen more.
There's NO question Troma royally failed us all as an eTailer. They foolishly promoted sales and didn't have the stock or staff to fulfill them. Many of their "employees" are a cut above (maybe below) volunteers. Such things happen. This is a tiny, tiny outfit. I had almost identical problems with a much larger outfit by the name of Buy.com two years ago, and I (and many others) swore up and down I'd never shop there again. But they got their act together and I cautiously returned. They're provided me spectacular service ever since. The "foolish" decision to return with my business was simply my choice. Y'all might wish to continue to stamp your feet about past sins. That's yours. Just please allow us the courtesy of not jumping down our throats while we test the waters. This thread more than adequately documents past transgressions. I'm only interested in Troma's present and future customer service stories.
And yes, I'm a fan of Troma. I'm not a fan of Troma's inept attempts at eTailing. But I'm foolish enough to believe they can and will turn things around.

This was my first time dealing with Troma, and I was expecting the worst, but I had no problems at all.

DVD Talk Gold Edition
I had the problem last year where I ordered them (3/2001), and 2 months later no dvds, I emailed them, Millie responded, and I got all but one of my dvds and 4 free ones. I emailed Millied and they priority shipped the missing one. The billing was not until after I got them and everything was fine!

It's unfortunate you all had bad troma experiences
My first half.com purchase ever was from halftroma and ended up being $5 + $2.30 shipping (I used one of those $5 off $10 firsttimer coupons on a $20 list DVD).
They did okay through half - shipped the stuff on time, packed it right etc.
I have never dealt with Troma through their website - their shipping costs that way were too high.
Hope you all get satisfaction.

Greetings from Tromaville!
Greetings from Tromaville!
My name is Chris Lanphear, and I am the Managing Editor of tromamovies.com for Troma Entertainment.
No phony excuses, no bulls**t.
If you have placed an order via The Tromaville Maul and it has not been resolved, please contact:
Millie Medina, Director of Operations
Troma Entertainment, Inc.
The Troma Building
733 9th Avenue
New York, NY
Phone: (212) 757-4555 ext. 29 (or 1-800-TROMA-14 ext. 29) [DIRECT LINE]
Fax: (212) 399-9885
E-mail:
On behalf of the Troma Community, I am very sorry for the problems you have been having with the service. Troma is a small company, and we always attempt to do our best with what we can.
Steve DeBono and Chip DeCraene no longer work for Troma, and I do not believe that exists anymore. Please send all correspondence regarding order information to the above channels.
Please have the following information available to Millie:

Your Order Number
Shipping Address
Billing Address
Items You Ordered
Whether or not Your Credit Card has been charged
A note: If your shipping address does not match the billing address on the credit card used for the order, the Tromaville Maul system automatically declines the order and it is not processed. In fact, it is stopped dead in its tracks and we have no record of it.
Another note, not an excuse: Millie runs Operations for the entire company (a hefty task), and it may take her up to two weeks to reply to an e-mail sent. So, if you have waited two weeks and received no reply, send again.
Yet another note: I have nothing to do with orders placed through the Tromaville Maul; please do not contact me regarding an order. Use the information above. Thanks!
Toxie thanks you for your patience and support of truly independent cinema! And the Troma Team thanks you for offering us the ability to improve customer service.
I will do my best to check in on this from time to time, and I hope that situations improve for all of you.
Very Truly,

This would be the person who told me twice that my order had shipped and when it became all too clear that it had not shipped she stopped returning my emails and calls. As far as I’m concerned the problems began with her and escalated through to Steve. I’m shocked she’s still there.
I got my refund, after six months of mails and calls but I never received any product which, according to Steve, had been shipped four times! Obvious lies. Steve had promised me a refund and my entire order free of charge.
If you want to make it up to me Chris you can send me the entire Roan catalogue free of charge. My original order consisted of about 30 titles so that should be adequate compensation.
