You are not, I ordered about 12 dvds during the 25c sale and so did my sister and we both got them within 2 weeks.

I ordered the full set and never received them. I was promised (still have the email) that this would be rectified, just wait for the next 25 cent sale.

Right.

I ordered their whole collection during the 25 cent sale which was 22 titles if i remember correctly, and I received about 18 of them within 2 weeks, and the other 4 came about 2 weeks later. So far i'm happy, but from what i've seen i probably would think twice before ordering again...

I ordered all of the titles during the 25 cent sale. A couple of them did not ship ("they're no longer available") and they gave me comic books (?!?!?) instead. They didn't remove that aspect of the order charge -- they still charged me the full amount (including the outrageous shipping) and sent me comics that I absolutely did not order or want.

Of course, during this time, the DVDs that were "no longer available" were still on the web site to order.

I got every excuse in the book about this issue, much like we saw during this latest sale (new employees, "I wasn't here when this sale started", problems at the warehouse, mother nature, etc.) In the end, I gave up. But, I certainly have no faith in giving this company my credit card again. They seem to have a nasty habit of running sales that they can't support and lying about it afterward.

Beat you to that ... Greetings from Tromaville.

I'm a firm believer in the Troma philosophy and a great admirer of their unique contributions to fringe cinema. However, like everyone here, I've been intensely disappointed to hear how utterly failed their online store has been. But I'm pleased to see Steve working so hard to turn things around. I remember when Buy.com, a MUCH larger operation, was in a similar fix and able to win customers back. I trust Troma will do the same. One order at a time.

I think Troma's heart was in the right place but they got in over their head with these sales. I have e-mailed Steve about some of the issues I had with my orders and I am willing to give him the opportunity to correct the situation. During the .25 cent sale they sent me everything I ordered except for "The Toxic Avenger 2" and the substitued "Cry Uncle" for it. At first I was disappointed but then I looked at what I got and what I paid and decided I made out ok. Then to my suprise I actually liked "Cry Uncle" and I even showed it to a good friend of mine and she liked it too. The .25 cent sale really wasn't bad compared to this last one. The past sale has been both a nightmare for us and for Troma. Maybe in the future they will plan ahead, bring in temps to fill orders or something. I hope they find a way to make this better because I really do enjoy their movies.

What's the latest? Anyone have any current reports from their online dealings with the Troma store?

He agreed and offered to send me a couple of freebie DVDs as an apology. Classy guy, if he delivers.

Well, he finally did deliver. Got 2 extra DVDs for the trouble & phone calls; thanks, Steve.

I've emailed Troma twice in the last few days, with zero response from Steve or anyone else... this concerning an order placed back in February for which I was already charged.

Doesn't the Federal Trade Commission regulate this sort of business?

Has this been resolved yet?

Nope, not a thing. Apparently all the good will and remorse at Troma dried up as soon as they were no longer under the gun.

Now I gotta get the law involved.

I hate to repeat myself....Ok I lie, I love to stick the knife into this lot but these people are THE WORST on-line entity I have ever dealt with and nothing short of legal action will get them to fulfil their obligations. CDNow just (apparently, I haven’t checked) refunded me after a seven month wait but compared to Troma they are a model of good business practice. Mille Medina, Chip, Steve DeBono, watch out for these names people, in case they turn up at other etailers.

Oh, and Steve - I never did get that freebie order. Guess it must have gotten lost in the post just like the other four times. Or maybe Millie was in charge of sending it, either way I think we both know where it is: STILL IN YOUR WAREHOUSE!!!

Bumping because the world needs to know what kind of a company these people are and to see if they’ve made good on any promises or if they’re still trying to avoid their responsibilities.

Today, seven months after placing my order in February, I finally received my Mr. Wong Collection, last of the 13 items I ordered. It took patience, persistence, and politeness, but I wound up with them all, including 10 (yep, ten) freebies included in the separate shipments. It's been a long strange trip, but I got everything I ordered and ten more for the ordeal. I think these are basically ok people who just got in over their heads and have been working their way out. I didn't threaten or scream or get mad at them. I just worked with them, and I got what I wanted plus. And I'm a happy camper now.

I said I was happy, not crazy. Seriously, I'd be hesitant, but I'd probably do it again if they had equally good deals, which they haven't to this point.

This may be a coincicence, but the credit card that I used when I placed my Troma order (which was never shipped or delivered) was used by somebody at a pay phone in New Jersey to make 4 long distance phone calls. I had the charges taken off my credit card invoice (as well as the one for my order) so I wasn't responisble, but I'm watching all activity on that card very closely.

They don't even answer my e-mails. I've been very professional and polite to them and I have gotten nothing to show for it. They shouldn't tell you that they are mailing your order today if they havn't researched and determined wether or not they can deliver. Very big disappointment. I was a big Troma supporter, frequented their website and I placed several orders with them (even when there wasn't a sale). Now I very rarely check out their site and I havn't ordered from them since.

Troma has several interesting new titles due this fall. I hope their eStore radically improves in time.
