They should hire Mayim Bialik, to get her the hell off Jeopardy.

Can’t say I blame him but with his exit there goes the last of the iconic game show hosts. To me the best ones were him, Bob Barker, and Alex Trebek. Also liked Regis on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and Steve Harvey is good on Family Feud.

I wonder if Pat’s daughter, Maggie will have a role with the show. They’ve been incorporating her into segments every so often and she’s been in Vanna’s position when Pat had to be out.

That game show hosting gig makes the host some big bank for low effort. There should be people clamoring for the job, but they can't choose someone who's bigger than the show.

This show is a huge money maker for the producers so they need to make the transition as smooth as possible since the audience has been so used to Pat and Vanna for decades.. Definitely move Sajak’s daughter in if Vanna wants to retire but having the very old skewing audience accepting a new host is going to be a delicate dance.

The show hasn't been the same since they ditched the spinning platform of prizes including the ceramic dalmation ...

I think the format of the show is what people tune into and not the hosts though they have been there a long time.

Would they hire younger talent since I thought everybody wants a younger audience demographic to sell products to?

I can envision if they hire a minority and then people getting pissed online.

I’ve started watching Wheel of Fortune the last few weeks after not watching for probably 25 years. One thing I’ve learned - I really suck at playing Wheel of Fortune.

They should give it to Tom Bergeron.

Re: Pat Sajak to retire after 2023-24 season of Wheel of Fortune

We watched this as a family at dinner while our kids were prereaders and early readers, they loved it. Now, they don't, because they associate it with being little so it's "a baby show," which is ridiculous, but whatever. It means I don't watch it as often as I did, but I truly have enjoyed it all my life. And, I'm really good at it. They were asking for Star Wars fans to audition but I forgot. Truly missed my niche window for greatness and to potentially meet Pat!

From what I remember, almost everyone took home a ceramic dog. It was usually the cheapest item in the prize showcase and the players got stuck with one as their prize funds dwindled. It's why it's still a running joke to this day.

"Okay, Cherly, you won $1600 dollars! Let's take a look at the prize showcase."

"Oh, Pat I'll take the La-Z Boy recliner for $700! And the color tv for $400. And that microwave oven for $275!"

"Okay, Cheryl, you have $225 left."

"...and I'll take the ceramic dog for $145."

"Great, Cheryl! We'll put the remaining eighty dollars on a gift certificate!"

I take it Vanna will leave too.

And I read the rumor about Seacrest. Doesn't seem like a good gig for him.

I bet he'd enjoy making 2 million for a week's work.

I don't see her becoming host, as I doubt she's staying on the show much longer anyway...

How about an AI host instead?
