Warner's Statement on Superman Ultimate Mess Up
from WB
Statement from Warner Home Video, November 27, 2006
Bonus content was omitted from the "Superman III Deluxe Edition" in the 14-disc "Superman Ultimate Collector's Edition." Furthermore, disc one of "Superman: The Movie Four Disc Special Edition" did not include the Dolby Digital 2.0 mix. Neither disc is known to be physically defective in any way.
Warner Home Video wants to extend apologies to all of our loyal Superman fans who've waited so patiently for these great collections and has taken immediate steps to correct these errors with the intention of standing behind our product 100%.
Replacement discs can be obtained by calling: 800-553-6937. The exchange program applies only to purchases of the “Superman III Deluxe Edition” in the “Superman Ultimate Collector's Edition” and to disc one of “Superman: The Movie Four Disc Special Edition,” available as a single title, as well as in “The Christopher Reeve Superman Collection” and in the “Superman Ultimate Collector's Edition.”

Kudos for a pretty quick response. Hopefully the replacement goes smooth.

It seems like they went above and beyond I gotta say in regards to how they have handled this situation...
I ordered the Box Set from B&N and should receive my set either tomorrow or wednes...
I will prob. wait till I have the set till i call in case they need information of some kind but it is nice to see them address this situation so quickly

Gee, and here I actually thought that WARNER (one of the greatest DVD producers out there) would just let this one slide by. I could've SWORE that the 10+ pages of bitching and moaning in the Superman DVD thread meant that they wouldn't do anything.
And if you can't tell that's sarcasm then you need some serious help.

I would wait before patting them on the back...No one has gotten the discs and started with the program yet. Give it a couple weeks and see how it goes before gushing.

No reason to call right now--I don't need them "calling me back" just to tell me what I can read here. Once they figure out the program's logistics and how the mailings will go, THEN, I'll call and tell them where to send my discs.

Please! This never should've happened in the first place! Idiots!
Just kidding.
The set only cost me 53 bucks and change through Barnes & Noble, so this a minor inconvenience that I can live with. At least it's not like Universal's screwup with the Back To the Future trilogy. I had to ship off 2/3's of that boxset for over a month. Here, I'll only need to send off 2 out of 14 discs.

Let's hope the replacement process is just as quick as the announcement.
edit: Just replied to an old open window. Can't believe I just agreed with FantasticVSDoom.

I wonder HOW this exchange will work, exactly. I'm not nuts about the "you send us your discs, we'll send you the replacement discs."
I guess they can't just send the new discs to anyone who claims to have the bad ones, but still, I hope it doesn't require me mailing them the bad ones, or my original sales slip or my first born child, etc.

Think I'll wait quite a while to buy this one. Even if the replacement program goes smoothly, it never works as good for us people who are overseas. I'll be waiting until the corrected sets are in the stores (and Amazon.com) before I'll be buying it. I DID have it on my wish list, but not any more!! Too bad WB, gotta wait until the corrected sets come out before you get my bucks!

Yeah, I hope they don't need the original receipt...I already mailed it in to get my free posters.

I'm much more fearful that they will require me to do something I've never done in all my 1,050+ titles...cut off the proof of purchase, and thereby desecrate the packaging. But for this monumental an issue, if required, I'll do it. I'll hate Warners for it, but I'll do it.
