Fans of MTV's "The State" Rejoice

THE STATE MTV SHOW
has never been rerun or released on video (aside from the "Skits and Stickers" compilation). MTV is currently developing a new State DVD.

Holy Crap! That's great news! If only they were released as season sets...

Holy sweet "I wanna dip my balls in it" amazement.

Please let this be true, if so my life is complete. Since I first joined this forum years ago in my very first posts, I was complaining about if the day will ever come. My Bumper stickers VHS is literally worn out. And Wet Hot American Summer is one of my most played DVDs. Screw Indy, Star Wars, & whatever else people always talk about. This is the most important DVD news EVER.

Let's not go around giving each other high fives just yet. The website did not say wether it would not a best of like the "Skits and Stickers" tape, or a seasonal box set. I suppose State on DVD is better than no State on DVD, but I will approach this with cautious optimism.

In the FAQ page of that site, concerning video releases, they say "...beg MTV to rerun the show or to release episodes on video. Try writing MTV Home Video, 1515 Broadway, NY NY 10036, or MTV Programming Dept, same address. Or write to Comedy Central, 1775 Broadway, NYC, 10019."
I would guess that these are the addresses to which we can express our desires for full seasons.

I'm Doug. And I'm outta heeeere.

If this is true, this has been one of my most awaited DVDs. Hopefully it comes out.

Some of the best DVD news I've heard in a while. "Skits and Stickers (Stickers not Included)" still gets a lot of play from me.

This would be amazing if they released complete episodes and all of the episodes.....

I probably would not buy some crappy compilation of skits.....

You're the first person I thought of when I saw the subject line, lordzeppelin. Don't worry, though, I suspect you've got quite a while to wait before your life is complete.

No, I can't say I have had the pleasure. I have not watched MTV since it became Movie Television. Grew up with it from the very beginning until the early 90s when it became more geared to "reality based TV" rather than music.

For anybody that doesn't know there are sites where you can watch the episodes from The State.

The State's official website:

http://www.the-state.com/

You can watch all the episodes here:

The official Stella website featuring Michael Showalter, Michael Ian Black and David Wain from The State. You can watch all the Stella episodes here:

There is also a Stella DVD. It's up on ebay a lot.
