Excellent catch, thanks!

I was planning on getting the individual disks during the DDD sale, but even with 20% off and free shipping I was expecting to pay $112 for them.

The other odd thing about this, though, is that as far as I have been able to determine, a complete box set of the Platinum Editions have not even been announced. I was hoping one would be so I could save some money on them, but searching around different DVD vendor and Anime sites yielded no information. I thought I would have to order the version of Disk 1 that came with the full box and the other six seperately.

For $9 it's definitely worth taking a chance. Great coincidence for me.

I really hope FW doesn't ruin this for us because I think we really have a shot of it going through. My experiences with Overstock have all been pleasant, so here's to hoping history repeats itself!

Don't count on it. Someone there probably ordered 50 or 100 copies already.

I wouldn't doubt it. Oh well, I still think it was worth a shot if it doesn't end up going through.

This is one of my favorite series (so, yes, I would recommend it). It's a bit out there, and it is anime (for those who don't really consider themselves fan of the approach), but it is widely acclaimed, and at this price--a total steal.

Hate to chance it....but did anyway.........I do caution all potential takers on this deal that if you're doing it just to resale on ebay, don't do it immediately. In the past when people bought stuff like Tomorrow People for cheap all at once and tried to sell on ebay they flooded the market and depreciated the selling price in one fell swoop. Many people lost money.

I completely agree. I think we can kiss this one goodbye and look for a cancellation e-mail. :-(

You need to search different sites. ADV did announce the Complete Evangelion Platinum set(thinpaked) for November 22 with a list price of $89.98.

I ordered just in case, hopefully it goes through. Probably not though.
If it does become a hassle I'd rather them just cancel it instead of raising the price and charging my CC or shipping the wrong item (like a single DVD).

I just ordered one for free since I got some credit from the overstock auctions sign-up offer to burn anyway.

But this happened with the Charles Dickens 6 DVD set this summer that they had up for $11. The orders were cancelled but most of us still received the DVDs anyways, at absolutely no charge. So, I hope they cancel the orders, as long as they ship them anyways.

They charged me for the Dickens set when I ordered, but I got no credit after they cancelled. I was fighting them for a month about that when the Dickens set showed up. So I did pay for mine!

When I was fighting them, I could not find a CSR who could follow my logic (I ordered, you cancelled it, give me my money back) - it was unbelievable.

and yes, I agree. I don't know why most FWers are a bunch of greedy cheap sonsabitches, and not in a good way. Order 1, sure. Order 2, ok. Order 3, I could even see. Any more than that and you're a willfully deal-abusing greedy a-hole, imho.

I completely agree with you. I hate it when people ruin it by ordering 50 copies. Oh, and thanks for posting the art. Looks great

Can a complete set really be that cheap?
No, but they also say they charge your credit card as soon as you submit your order.

Heheh I remember when someone bought a crap load of those NFL superbowl dvds..then got pissed when people we're flooding the market..and 'ruining' it for him because he wasnt going to make a profit or something.

I'm in. Don't know anything about it, but for that price I'll give it a shot.
