Re: Masters of the Universe (2026, D: Knight)

A better look at the heroes and villains in those featurettes. Interestingly it appears they've included the character of Karg, who's only from the MOTU movie and not the original line of characters.

Re: Paul Walter Hauser

He's still only 39, not even mid-way through his working years, but it's admirable he's been able to carve out a nice career so far, while needing none of what so many of his peers depend on - age,...

Re: AMC Stubs A-List -- movie theatre subscription

Ahh interesting, I have yet to do the profile pic and I've been reminded of that a few times when checking in :)

Re: Top Gun (1986, D: Tony Scott) -- S: Cruise, Edwards, McGillis -- 40th anniversary re-release -- 5/13/

Easy one - Dolby for Top Gun, Imax for TGM since it uses the aspect ratio (even if it is liemax) That's generally my line of thinking for all movies, if the aspect ratio doesn't change I'll opt for...

Re: Top Gun (1986, D: Tony Scott) -- S: Cruise, Edwards, McGillis -- 40th anniversary re-release -- 5/13/

I saw the 35th Anniversary release on AMC Dolby. I expected the audio mix to be good but dated - I could not have been more wrong as it was one of the best audio experiences, the explosions in the...

Re: Patrick Muldoon, star of Days of Our Lives, dies suddenly aged 57

I'm ten years younger but this is scary...I should get a primary care doctor.

Re: The Mandalorian & Grogu (5/22/26, D: Favreau)

Maybe half full for ours, but for a month out that's pretty good. I'm likely going Fri AM. Film should open to 100m, 250m domestic/international split.

Re: The Mandalorian & Grogu (5/22/26, D: Favreau)

Awesome poster from Matt Ferguson! (AMC popcorn tin coming also) Though I wasn't a fan of the ROTS poster last year, I'm glad Lucasfilm is still working with him - can't wait to see what he has for...

Re: Top Gun 3 — S: Cruise, Teller, Powell — News and Rumors

Yeah, they'd be crazy not to follow the Memorial Wknd release of the last one, if they get the script right this year and everyone's schedules lined up to shoot next Spring they could make that 2028...

Re: Lee Cronin's The Mummy (2026, W/D: Cronin, P: Wan, Blum) -- The Spoiler Reviews Thread

I was considering it, but I just can't handle gory and disturbing films any more.(and I've regretted the last few I've seen) Interesting premise, but I'll hold out for The Mummy 4 in a few years.

re: The Mandalorian & Grogu (5/22/26, D: Favreau)

Looking much better, still some concerns but we'll see how it plays out - likely will check out the Thurs eve or Fri AM showing.

Re: Digger (2026, D: Alejandro Iñárritu) - S: Tom Cruise

He's definitely made some poor choices in his later years (Jack Reacher 2, The Mummy, etc) and I think Fallout should've been the finale for MI (I'd easily trade the last two MI installments for two...

Re: Masters of the Universe (2026, D: Knight)

My God, just give us an actual cup and popcorn tin - I'm not drinking out of a plastic sword. Too many people easily parted with their money apparently - who probably don't even have the money to...

Re: Godzilla Minus Zero (D: Yamazaki; Japan: 11/3/26; USA: 11/6/26)

So happy this is a direct sequel, following the characters we grew to love from the previous film. That dude needs to stop screaming though, the worst part of the first film shows up in our first...

Re: Little House on the Prairie update coming to Netflix

Watched the entire original series growing up, but yeah I just don't see this translating well enough, it just doesn't have the look or feel of the time, not even close.

Re: Do you remember every movie saw in a theatre vs. on video?

No, I don't remember every movie I saw in theaters because I was too young to remember those ones - I don't remember seeing ET because I was two years old. I remember seeing American Tail, earliest...

Re: Michael (2026, D: Fuqua) - Michael Jackson biopic

I'm not sure what everyone was expecting. I'm surprised it was even included in the original cut. 15m to redo the film's third act is a no brainer.

Re: The Super Mario Galaxy Movie - (2026; Pratt, Taylor-Joy, Black, Larson, Day, Key) - The Review Thread

3.5 which is generous, but I did enjoy this one more than the first. A lot less Jack Black will do that, I just don't care for the Bowser characterization. Didn't like Wart here either, and that...

Re: Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum (2027, D: Serkis)

Eh, I've only seen him in White Lotus... not exactly what I was hoping for. They didn't need to go that much younger imo (he's 29) mid-late 30's would've been my preference.

Re: Masters of the Universe (2026, D: Knight)

I couldn't possibly be more disinterested in how 'big' the actor looks, he did his job. The best He-Man comp is probably Hemsworth, but he's a bit old and out of their price range. If anything it's...

Re: Project Hail Mary (2026, D: Lord and Miller) -- The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Just curious, were the Rocky(movie) references in the book or was that a movie addition? Makes sense since Amazon (I believe) has the rights, so it was an easy inclusion.

Re: Masters of the Universe (2026, D: Knight)

Solid trailer, looks fun - pretty much a hero's origin story, my only criticism is he could've been living on a remote place on Eternia instead of Earth. Visually still looking pretty artificial,...

Re: Project Hail Mary (2026, D: Lord and Miller) -- The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

4/5 Caught an IMAX matinee before Mario takes over on Wed. I went in almost totally blind, admittedly I wasn't too excited about it - and the opening 20ish minutes weren't exactly helping. But it...

Re: RIP James Tolkan (Top Gun, Back to The Future)

"Slacker!!" His filmography isn't as deep as I would've thought, hopefully with the convention gigs he was able to make a decent living out of it. Saw three of his films in theaters - Masters of the...

Re: The Official Box Office Discussion Thread

It's pretty remarkable how close PHM is to Dune 2 with it's release date and box office domestically. They've been close to tied daily through this first week, and 46m would match Dune 2's second...
