Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

I tried repeatedly and could never connect Verizon Fios to MA. I believe this promotion ends in a few days.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

Often times, Sony Pictures Classics carries movies that Sony didn't initially produce. They only bought distribution rights with more limitations than movies that Sony makes themselves. That is why...

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

b2net's story is quite sobering if you have a large digital collection. It's why I really don't place much stock in mine. I loathe dealing with VUDU's customer service over any issue.

I did notice...

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

I know many people that don't trust the digital services - they keep spreadsheets of every digital movie they own in UV and MA.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

I bet it was to preempt users from asking customer service to "fix" the code.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

It switched very recently with their latest batch of new releases. It's because Fox is now owned by Disney, which does give out UHD digital copies.

Apparently this won't work on older codes, since...

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

UV is now down to VUDU as a provider. So how long before VUDU pulls the plug on being a UV provider once Paramount and Lionsgate go MA?

We've seen this song-and-dance from digital streaming...

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

Basically UV is a dead service going forward, only good for legacy sharing if you happened to have sub-accounts with others. I don't think VUDU will remove UV access because the P.R. fall-out would...

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

It depends on the studio if a digital code has truly expired or not. Most work past the listed expiration date.

It's probably wise to get up to speed on MA and begin redeeming any older codes...

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

The studios have to pay the provider every time someone redeems a UV code. That is why UV will be all but dead within the next six months.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

I think UV will limp along on VUDU for legacy collections and television shows, but the writing is on the wall. Hollywood is quickly abandoning it for Movies Anywhere.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

I think UV is dying and VUDU knows it. I knew when MA arrived that UV would quickly get abandoned by Hollywood.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

UltraViolet is a dead digital code system walking. Within a year, I doubt it will be around as anything but a legacy system integrated into MA.

I did like UV. MA seems to be Disney forcing their...
