Re: Masters of the Universe (2026, D: Knight) -- The Spoiler Reviews Thread

I feared we were gonna get something reminiscent of the Filmation version of him, but nope. SO pleased that was not the case!

Re: Masters of the Universe (2026, D: Knight) -- The Spoiler Reviews Thread

Even though a LOT of the humor fell flat, I still ended up getting won over by the movie due to the sound, the costuming, fight-choreography and score ("Eternia" looks to already be my favorite theme...

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

Same. I only like Foxy for Pam's outfits & the opening-credits sequence. Where as Coffy is just a wild ride from start to finish!

Re: Lionsgate Limited - limited-edition releases curated from Lionsgate’s library

You would think there would be some kind of featurette acknowledging the pop-culture status Kill Bill has had over the decades. "Ironside","Battles/Humanity, "Woo Hoo" and "Twisted Nerve" have all...

Re: MVD, Synapse, and Blue Underground Releases Masterthread

^Yep! I got the Tenebre 4K (Non-deluxe) for just $24 and "Demons [Remastered 1080p Blu-Ray]" for just $17 (Normally $34!) But what's weird about that is that I can't find no images/unboxings of that...

Re: Netflix brings back the R -Rated Blockbuster

Hot Line with Tanya Roberts! :rock2:

Sounds very familiar, but all that comes to mind is Passion Cove. But I think that was a tropical getaway. Only reason why that one lingers in the mind is...

Re: Netflix brings back the R -Rated Blockbuster

^You described Andy Sidaris movies, circa '88-98, to a tee!

That was Showtime ;) (Red Shoe Diaries, Women: Stories of Passion) Cinemax mostly did serialized shows with some stand-alone...

Re: Which actor has died the most on screen? (spoilers)

Meagan Good has died in every Horror movie she's appeared in. Guess it's in her contract.

Re: Donald Gibb (Revenge of the Nerds, Bloodsport) dies at 71

Thanks. I had a feeling there was a non-R1 release that finally did it right after all these years.

Re: Characters Killed Early in a Movie that was a surprise

^I had no idea Arsenio was on that long!?!

Back to topic, The Bravados features one of the Three Stooges in it's cast. You would think his character would provide some comic relief throughout the...

Re: Donald Gibb (Revenge of the Nerds, Bloodsport) dies at 71

Just wondering if there's ever been some sort of Special Edition of Bloodsport. Or has every release of it has always been bare-bones? I've always been wanting to hear behind-the-scenes stories about...

It's always been amusing to me how both The Hunchback & Mad Doctor outlasted one of those other major characters by over a...

Re: What movie just doesn't click for you, even though it should?

To be fair, a majority of 70s Vietnam movies focused more on the "Vet Returns Home" aspect:
Tracks
Rolling Thunder
Heroes
Coming Home
Who'll Stop The Rain

We had to wait til the 80s to "Go...

Re: What movie just doesn't click for you, even though it should?

Films like Shadow of The Vampire, The Pale Blue Eye and Crimson Peak should strongly click for my gothness with their (Often) Oscar-nominated production values, performances and great subject matter....

Re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

Yep. Though It has a much lower body count than Woo films, the violence hits much harder. Also contains some cool Bullet POV shots.

Re: Weird coincidences in movies?

While reading my X-Men comics in the 80s, I always thought that if they ever made live-action movies about those characters, then Michael Ironside would have been my #1 pick to play Sebastian Shaw....

Re: Who's That Girl (D: Madonna) - Madonna Biopic - S: Julia Garner

I little OT, but I feel ya. Right when I cancelled Starz, two movies suddenly popped up that I wouldn't mind checking out (The Long Walk & Housemaid) :grumble:
