Re: Jim Henson Idea Man (2024, D: Ron Howard) -- documentary

Definitely looking forward to this one.

In the meantime Defunctland did an excellent deep dive on all things Jim Henson. Beware it's about 6 videos and about 3 hours long total but he did an...

Re: Openings or title cards to shows you always stick around for?

Just a funny little anecdote. I've watched the A-Team since it originally aired. But didn't watch Battlestar Galactica (another great intro, all the versions) until about 10 years ago. I finally made...

Re: Openings or title cards to shows you always stick around for?

Me too. I love opening sequences. Even if I'm binge watching. It's just part of the experience for me and further draws me in to the show. I guess I do usually skip procedural shows title cards like...

Re: Marvel Animation’s X-Men ‘97 (Disney+) - premieres 3/20/24

Is it just me or is this show way more emotional than it should be. Maybe there's something wrong with me. I know the X-Men have always paralleled societal issues a lot more than other comic book...

Re: Transformers One - animated prequel (2024, D: Cooley)

That's a very interesting thought. I feel like it's only a few generations that really have that strong connection to IP. The previous generation had some movies and some TV shows sure. But nothing...

Re: Transformers One - animated prequel (2024, D: Cooley)

I'd argue that the Bayformer's movies were just all over the place in tone. They got it all wrong. The humans behaved more like cartoons than the animated robots did. While the transformers took...

Re: Transformers One - animated prequel (2024, D: Cooley)

I'm fully aware of what the original cartoons were. It's less about the tone and more about the characterizations. Jazz is very jokey, that's his character. Bumblebee too is, maybe not as jokey, but...

Re: Favorite comfort movie?

Looking back maybe we shouldn't have all replied with just images.

A lot of people's ideas of a comfort movie certainly are quite a bit different than mine.

A lot of good ones though....

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

Are we sure it doesn't have couch co-op or was that just not mentioned in the video. That would be absolutely tragic if it didn't have it and a total misstep for a TMNT turtles game released on the...

Re: Law & Order: Organized Crime (NBC) -- S: Chris Meloni as Elliot Stabler -- premieres 4/1/21

I guess I must be the only one to be enjoying this. It's so ridiculous and over the top and different from SVU that I like it. I find the different ways they come up with to embed the most famous cop...

Re: Marvel Animation’s X-Men ‘97 (Disney+) - premieres 3/20/24

Yeah the persecution/racism angle.

But also even though I still love the original show it definitely has it's faults. Even back then a lot of the characterizations were really kind of grating....

Re: Marvel Animation’s X-Men ‘97 (Disney+) - premieres 3/20/24

I agree it would be nice to take some time with these plot lines. But also if we're only going to get 10 episodes instead of 26 or so I don't mind this balance.

Re: For real life? The Bluey appreciation thread!

SURPRISE EPIDOSE!!

Literally. Shocking everyone, they released one more episode titled Surprise.

I tell you what this has been quite the emotional roller coaster this past couple weeks....

Re: Marvel Animation’s X-Men ‘97 (Disney+) - premieres 3/20/24

Going through rewatching the first 5 seasons. I have to say that the whole show hits totally different as an adult in today's world vs as a teen in the 90's. It definitely feels a lot eerily closer...

Re: For real life? The Bluey appreciation thread!

That episode did not disappoint. Absolutely loved it. I loved all the connections that happened all throughout the episode. Literally the butterfly effect.

So I guess they're not selling the house...

Re: The Orville: New Horizons (Hulu) -- premieres 6/2/22

What are even the logistics of this. Do they keep all the sets and wardrobe and all of that? That's a large portion of the budget right? Do they have storage enough to just chunk the entire sets to...

Re: Transformers and G.I. Joe crossover movie announced

That's a bit presumptuous. Lets wait and see until the movie comes out before we're jealous of anything. Does anyone remember being excited for an Aliens and Predator crossover?

Re: Transformers One - animated prequel (2024, D: Cooley)

It's coming out in 5 months and all they can show us is the logo? Just what are the working conditions like on this animated film?
