The one and only Beyonce thread

Yes I know, this forum doesn't exactly fit the demographic of Beyonce's audience. There were some really old topics about her, but it didn't fit this news. But, she is still pretty popular and this news is worth sharing.

So she's following the same path as Taylor and releasing a concert film from her recent tour. I have a ticket for Taylor's upcoming concert movie release on the 13th. But, not sure I would be that interested in Beyonce.

I have all of Destiny's Child albums when she was much younger, but haven't really followed her solo career that much. I respect what she's accomplished over 20+ years.

My thoughts on the RENAISSANCE Tour last month :

No "If I Were a Boy". No "Single Ladies"! When they said it was the RENAISSANCE Tour, they weren't kidding!
I thought it was fine, pretty good actually. But nothing remarkable like the Eras Tour. Can't imagine it would have nearly as many tickets sold for a concert film, but it certainly could make some money if it came to theaters.

If you haven't seen it yet, Homecoming on Netflix, chronicling her Coachella shows, is seriously one of the greatest concert films since Stop Making Sense. Easily the best of the 21st Century. Will worth watching, even if you are only a casual fan.

Trailer for the concert movie. In theaters December 1st. Tickets are on sale and I’ve seen some seats booked.

Re: The one and only Beyonce thread

I just checked on Fandango and the Beyonce tickets are definitely not moving as fast as Taylor Swift on the 1st day of sales. There are still lots of seats left. I don't anticipate very high demand and judging by the trailer it's formatted more like a documentary than a concert.

On the other hand, my IMAX 6pm showing on the 13th at AMC for Taylor is completely sold out except maybe 5 handicap seats. It was sold out weeks ago.

Yeah, like I said, not nearly the same demand level.
The two films are almost exactly the same length but Beyoncé concert was about 45 minutes less (with much longer pauses between sets). So probably a lot of backstage stuff.

Her final show of the tour was here in KC a few nights ago. The traffic jam was so bad she delayed the show 2 hours.

Re: The one and only Beyonce thread

Beyoncé’s movie opens this week and ticket sales definitely appear really soft. I checked Fandango and a few local theaters near me have only a handful of night shows that have more than 60% of the seats sold. Mostly premium screens. Lots of seats available on other showings. One theater near me that is in a dead mall has 0 seats sold for the first 7pm show on Thursday. Sucks that this is eating up premium screens that could have gone to Godzilla minus one.

Taylor Swift returned the favor and showed up at the London premiere of Renaissance
