Big country fan here (traditional, not contemporary pop). Check out some of Kenny's work with his early band First Edition. Most if not all are out of print but can be tracked down -- they started out as a psych rock band then evolved into sort of an everything band before they broke up in the mid-70s. A favorite of mine:

Terrible quality video, but this was probably one of the biggest pop songs of Rogers career next to Lady and Islands in the Stream. What about me with James Ingram and Kim Carnes.

He’s not dying, just a disabled Vietnam Vet. Can you blame her, Ruby’s got needs.
