Re: King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

I am trying to find Omnium Gatherum on CD online but can't find any listing. Is it vinyl only for now?

No CD, just vinyl and digital download is all (and the digital-download is taken form the needle-drop of the vinyl, so I don't think there's an actual digital master to make CD out of)

Re: King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

I've been slacking, but the Gizz has not been slacking!

They had a 5-night stand at Red Rocks, where they played a 3-hour set each night, and they did not repeat one song over the 5 nights.
You can hear it (or buy all 86 tracks for only $20) here, and it's incredible!

They went and put out a prog-metal album...

And this week sees the release of their synth/electronic album - it has two versions, one where the songs are 3 to 5 minutes long, and an extended version, same songs, but 10 to 20 minutes each.
What's cool, is that while it's stylistically opposite of their previous (prog-metal) album, it's intended to be the mirror image of that album, with each song aligned with it's counterpart on the other album, "answering" each other (track 1 on the metal album to track 7 on the synth album, and so on).

Unfortunately, my interest in the band went to zero once they stopped releasing albums on cd.

I know it's not nearly the same, but you could burn their digital albums to CD (bandcamp offers loss-less wav-files as a download option)
But yeah, even though overall CD sales have plateaued, this band specifically must not be selling enough of them to justify putting them out on CD. If they did sell as well as their vinyl, of course they'd be putting them out. Stu himself has said that if you want the albums on CD, go ahead and bootleg them.
