Shut out on the Wrigley pre-sale.

Will try again during the public sale on Monday, but it'll probably be even worse. Especially trying to get 4 together, to take the whole family.

Seems like a lot of folks didn't get tickets and there were people from all over the US trying for them. I am coming from California...I even had two GA's, tossed them back and got the seats all within 30 seconds after 10AM...

re: FOO FIGHTERS: Sonic Highways - Fall 2014

Hell, I had 5 PCs running (KVM at work) and it took me a good 10 minutes before I even got ONE of them out of the "waiting room". Immediately tried for 4 best available, and met with failure.

But I see there's about a billion tickets for sale through third parties, beginning at the low low price of $189 for the cheap seats. I hope they get stuck with em. I know they won't, but I can hope, right?

The show at Wrigley sounds cool but I guess I don't get why that particular one is such a big deal that people are trying so hard to go to it. I'm sure they'll be announcing a tour soon anyways.

Wrigley only gets 2-3 shows a year... it's kind of an honor/sign you've made it.

Plus, being the center of the country, it's accessible by anyone.

In my case - because I anticipate they'll skip over IL/WI when they do a proper tour, since they'll already have played (or at least booked) Wrigley. I could think of a bunch other venues I'd prefer to see them in, to be honest...but this will probably be my only show within a couple of hours from home.

Really enjoying the first two singles (and episodes of the HBO series). More than I thought I would actually.

I didn't feel very connected to the DC music, but Chicago and Nashville were really amazing.

I think it's an Emmy worthy show through 3 episodes and all the songs are terrific.

Anybody know what song this is? It claims to be What Did I Do?/God As My Witness -- which is an awesome song, BTW -- but it is not.

You're right. I guess the fact that I didn't recognize it means it's been way too long since I listened to Wasting Light.

Is it just me, or does the first song totally crib Dio's Holy Diver?

Anyhoo, Foos have become innocuous corporate rock so gradually, I hardly noticed.

I listened to this on vinyl the other day and it was just ok. It wasn't anything mind blowing. I'll probably spin it some more.

re: FOO FIGHTERS: Sonic Highways - Fall 2014

I've listened to the full album in my car but haven't taken the time to really sit down and just listen to it. I think its a good album but I can see how it might not be a favorite for everyone or in particular casual fans. It seems to not have a single to hook people in like their previous albums, which is okay. Also most of the songs are longer so this album probably won't be getting a lot of mainstream attention on the radio, tv, etc.

I really like this album. In particular, What Did I Do?/God As My Witness and I Am A River really clicked with me, though I would also include The Feast and the Famine and Something From Nothing as worthy additions to the Foo Fighters canon.

re: FOO FIGHTERS: Sonic Highways - Fall 2014

I can't get more than one ticket for anything to the Saint Paul show. I had two different pre-sale codes and have been trying since Monday with no luck. Debating going to another show solo.

Edit: Fuck it, after thirty-five minutes of trying to get tickets from the general sale (I waited thinking more tickets might be released) I wound up getting just one for myself. Sucks I couldn't find more but I'm excited to see them again.

^Similar experience here - I've never had such a hard time getting concert tickets as I did for the Foo's this go round - they are playing 2 dates in Toronto and I only managed to score 1 ticket.
