I'll have to be sure to record Letterman this week. I'm pretty excited to hear the new songs and for the new album to come out. My most anticipated of the year in what's been a pretty weak year overall in terms of music.

Man, I so want to see the Foo Fighters, but just not quite enough to brave a music festival here in a couple of weeks. Last time I saw them it was at the 4000-person venue The Joint at Hard Rock. Mingling amongst over 100,000 unwashed cretins all day before they come onstage is something I just can't stomach at my age.

I'd love to see them in concert again too. I'm sure they'll announce a tour shortly after the album releases.

Looks like they're playing at the Cubby Bear in Chicago this Friday.

I already have 10c tickets to Pearl Jam in Moline for Friday, but I'm thinking of trying to get in on this anyway. Sure, I'd have to eat my PJ tickets, but how often will I get the chance to see FF in a venue like this? And it's not like there won't be a million others trying for the tickets, too...so it's not like I'd actually get 'em.

I am definitely going to try to score tickets for Friday. I have no doubt they will sell out in approximately three tenths of a second, but somebody has to get them -- why not me?

Letterman requested the song and talks about his relationship with the band and why the song is important to him. It's pretty great and touching.

No doubt they'll be his last musical guest.
