So the new Papa was unveiled over the weekend in Sweden.

He may just be a figurehead to bridge into Papa IV.

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

Cool. I was just thinking the other day that their last EP came out over a year ago (man, time flies. I can't believe it's been nearly a year since I last saw them in concert!) so we should be just about due for a new LP I believe?

Yup, April 2018, I believe.

Looks like GHOST is coming out with a live release next month! Not much is known - even the track list is a rumor, but I hope to get it on a sexy ass vinyl!

If they release a live show I would prefer it be video over an audio only release.

Same - live audio-only releases do nothing for me.

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

Agreed. With high definition video recording so easy and cheap, there's really no reason to release live albums anymore. I'd rather just have concert videos.

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

Well heres the release info and versions. I dont think there will be a video option. They give a great live show and would love to have that - but I probably wouldn't ever have a chance to watch it - especially with a kid on the way. Gonna go for the vinyl!

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

Already up on iTunes for download. Also, looks like the CD will include two extra songs not on the iTunes version.

Edit: listening now and the show is from San Francisco.

Yeah, looks like I will pass on this release. I'd rather have a Blu-ray concert video than a music-only one.

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

Yeah, the fact that such a visual band does not yet have a concert video out is puzzling. I'll likely pass on this, but would buy a Blu-ray concert video in a heartbeat.

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

That's a nice looking album.

I might have to consider getting it.

Do I go for the $100 LP/8-track/shirt/poster set? The idea of owning a 21st century 8-track amuses the hell out of me even though I have no way to play it.

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

Since the band is mixing the new album for a fall release they just announced what looks to be like a mini-tour:

Ghost 2018 U.S. Tour Dates

May 05 - Riverside, Calif. @ RMA
May 06 - Tucson, Ariz. @ Tucson Music Hall
May 08 - Houston, Texas @ Revention
May 10 - Chattanooga, Tenn. @ Tivoli
May 11 - Cincinnati, Ohio @ The Taft Theatre
May 12 - Detroit, Mich. @ The Fillmore
May 13 - Columbus, Ohio @ Express Live
May 15 - Port Chester, N.Y. @ The Capitol Theatre
May 16 - Syracuse, N.Y. @ Crouse Hinds Theater
May 18 - Pittsburgh, Pa. @ Benedum Center
May 19 - Philadelphia, Pa. @ WMMR BBQ
May 20 - Washington, D.C. @ Warner Theatre
May 22 - Asheville, N.C. @ Thomas Wolfe Auditorium
May 23 - Nashville, Tenn. @ Tennessee PAC
May 25 - St. Louis, Mo. @ Peabody Opera House
May 26 - Pryor, Okla. @ Rocklahoma
May 27 - Memphis, Tenn. @ Cannon Center
May 29 - Ft. Wayne, Ind. @ The Clyde Theater
May 31 - Milwaukee, Wis. @ Riverside Theater
June 01 - St. Paul, Minn. @ The Palace Theater

They also tease the coming of a new Papa. There was a flyer that said what came with the VIP passes and it mentioned that Papa Nil would present his new "Protege." That would be the dude in the suit in the poster. Oh, and Papa Nil is the old decrepit Papa with the oxygen tank from one of the previous posts:

I just got tix for Detroit. My daughter has been begging me to take here to a show, and the date 4 days before her birthday, so I gotta.

Looks like I'm heading out to Riverside in May. They always put on a great show and the unveiling of a 'new' Papa will be no exception.

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

Shit, unlike the last few tours, there's nothing close to me (the closest would be Syracuse which is nearly a three hour drive for me, so no). Why the hell aren't they playing Toronto this time, the last time they played there little over a year ago it was a packed house.

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

^ this looks to be a mini-tour before the new album is released. They also emphasize "pilgrimage," which is why they're playing in out of the way places. There's no L.A. show.

No Chicago show either. Though that's not uncommon for a lot of metal tour - even Megadeth only played Peoria or Rockford or something. I just assume the idiot promoters in charge of the Chicago venues are asking for too much money.

Nice, wrapping up the tour in St. Paul in June. I may have to check that out.

OK, that makes sense. The "Black to the Future" tour didn't hit Toronto either, but I saw them in Niagara Falls, NY that tour instead, which was definitely a bit out of the way (for them, not me). Oh well, here's hoping for a full blown North American tour in the fall perhaps (I'm guessing they will be touring Europe this summer).

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

I have seen them twice and would go to the OK show if it wasn't at that Rocklahoma shitfest. Not only are the other bands shitty it seems to get canceled every year due to rain or tornado weather. Can't wait for the new album.

I think it's got a lot to do with taxes. The city taxes the shit out of bands playing here.

You can thank Rahm Emmanuel for this trend.
