Re: The VINYL Thread!
I completely agree. I shelled out a good amount of money on The Beatles singles box set and have yet to even open it.
And then yesterday I pre-ordered The Gaslight Anthem's singles box set on blood red vinyl that comes with a 45 adapter in a nice wooden box. I had to have it but I will never use it. I wish it was 2 x LP.

That Gaslight Anthem box set looks pretty sexy though. I might have to pony up $60 for that.
Hardly a vast improvement since they used the same master. Which is my main complaint about vinyl. Why bother pressing on 180g virgin vinyl, at 45 rpm if they're going to use the same brickwalled master used for the CD/MP3? Why even both putting that on vinyl at all?
Some of the vinyl I have from the 70's just sounds jaw dropping. But most new releases (for the kind of music I like anyway) sound like ass. It frustrates me to no end that they continue to do this.

I wish this thread didn't exist, only because it makes me sad. I had a collection of over 500 classic LPs that were damaged back in 2008 due to an apartment flood.

I see how some can find 7"s a pain but you have to put one on and focus on it, that's what I like about them. I love a good 45 with a picture sleeve. They can be such a perfect little package.
WHAT?! How did I not know about this?

^ Man I want one of those. Just curious, how much did you pay and where'd you get it?
There's also another version of this soundtrack coming out on Record Store Day. Not sure what the deal with that one is.

I think the version that's coming out on RSD will not be the Tyler Stout cover one - it'll have a live action portrait or still from the film.

^ That's a pretty good price.
I looked at the RSD website and apparently it's the first US release of the album on vinyl and it's a picturedisc that's designed by Stout.

The next Mondo release is the Oblivion soundtrack. Guess I will get it. Honestly been more into the records than the posters lately. Traded for a Maniac since I didn't get that one originally.
