Taylor met with the victim's family in Sao Paulo yesterday.
In other Taylor news, she's bringing an extended version of The Eras Tour film to streaming on her birthday, 12/13. Still no Cardigan though.

And rental VoD is NOT "streaming".
Or it's not what is implied when someone says streaming.

I wonder how they’re going to price it for VOD. If it will be rental or priced to own or both. The theatrical release was between $19.89 to $25. I doubt the really casual people who don’t go to theaters would want to pay that much for streaming home video. The Swifties will pay anything. I'm going to guess it will be at least $19.99.

Taylor being named Spotify's top artist of 2023 is not a surprise. But it's nice that she is finally bringing You're Losing Me to streaming. It's a good song, and a kiss off to Joe.

If you were wondering where the pinnacle of the Taylor hype would be reached in 2023, it's here : she's Time's Person of the Year.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread
Swift pretty much lived up to the nickname The Music Industry: she single-handedly propped up Spotify and Apple Music, drove a major increase in physical record sales on both CD and LP vinyl, had a record-breaking live concert tour that may have contributed US$6 billion to the US economy, and even had US$250 million in revenue from a movie of that concert tour. That's the type of influence in the music industry we haven't seen since Frank Sinatra in 1942, Elvis Presley in 1956, the Beatles from late 1963 to 1970, and Michael Jackson from 1984 to 1993.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread
Has anyone here seen both the Taylor Swift and Beyonce concert films?
I'm curious what the differences are, in terms of big-screen cinematic experiences. (The obvious way to answer that question is to go see them myself, but I'm not going to go to the trouble--I'd prefer to get others' takes.)
I'm asking here because this thread is way more populous than Djariya's Beyonce thread. (I have a sneaking feeling Swift fans won't go see the Beyonce concert. Or vice versa.)
Thanks.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread
I've seen both concerts this year but only Taylor's film. Taylor's film is just a well filmed version of the show, no commentary or back stage stuff. Beyonce show has both apparently. Beyonce show was very centered on the RENAISSANCE album, which I didn't love. Taylor's show was far more career-spanning.

Vudu has a promo if you rent the Taylor Swift concert movie.
13% off your next purchase and you'll be entered in a drawing to win 2 tickets for a future Taylor concert.
Since most of this forum doesn't believe in paying for digital rentals, I'm not surprised that renting this isn't drawing people here.
No news yet on a physical copy ever being available.

Of course, but isn't that the case for most new movies these days? They come to VOD shortly after a theatrical debut, then Digital purchases and word of physical releases come later?

It will be released, and then it will be released again with the other 2 songs that are missing from the show.

I guess there probably will eventually be a physical media release, but probably not for a few more months at least.

A friend of mine just watched the extended version of The ERAS tour movie on streaming and they did a weird thing with the editing.
When the movie ends in theaters, they ended it on "Karma" and Taylor thanks her crew and dancers and such. And then the credits roll with Long Live.
The streaming version ends on "Long Live" and then she walks off the stage and the credits roll with "Long Live" again in the background. That's a bizarre edit it like that. I recall the Long Live performance was earlier in the theatrical version.

That same writer had a similar piece about Harry Styles a few months back. I had to lookup the quote "Mr. Styles’s performance (and exorbitant ticket prices) makes his identity our business." WTF. It's no one else's business-.
