As long as they film both Metallica sets and release them on blu-ray, that'll be sweet.

Beyond Magnetic Goes Vinyl
First it was digital, then it was compact disc, now the Beyond Magnetic EP will be available on vinyl to celebrate Record Store Day on April 21, 2012. We’ve always been big supporters of our friends at independent retail and the annual event the third Saturday of each April... we even helped kick off the first year in 2008 with an in-store appearance at one of our hometown stores! To add to the fun, this is no ordinary black vinyl release, but instead will be on silver vinyl with an exclusive Metallica sticker included in the package. Look for the EP on the special Saturday release date at your favorite local record store and on Metallica.com.
As a refresher, the Beyond Magnetic EP consists of four unreleased rough mixes of tracks from the Death Magnetic sessions that were debuted live during our anniversary celebrations at the Fillmore Theatre in San Francisco in December of last year. After giving them to all Fan Club members for free, those songs were available on iTunes and other at digital retailers, later coming out on CD in January.
Our international friends will be able to pick up the EP on April 20, 2012 at their favorite independent record store.
BEYOND MAGNETIC TRACKLISTING:
1. Hate Train
2. Just A Bullet Away
3. Hell And Back
4. Rebel Of Babylon

M3D
At the beginning of the year we told you about our latest adventure into 3D film... an all new, totally crazy world for us!! And, as we mentioned then, so many of the details were still being ironed out. With that said, we're super excited to announce that we will be teaming up with award winning director Nimrod Antal and producer Charlotte Huggins.
Nimrod's Hungarian language film "Kontroll" (which he wrote and directed) won several awards including the Award of Youth at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival. His other films include "Vacancy" with Kate Beckinsale and Luke Wilson, "Armored" with Matt Dillon and Laurence Fishburne, and "Predators" featuring Adrien Brody.
"I've been a fan of Nimrod's since his first Hungarian film, 'Kontroll,' showed up at Cannes in 2004 and blew everybody away," said Lars. "I've watched with excitement his career in Hollywood blossom over the last few years. Within five minutes of meeting him I was addicted to his enthusiasm, his take on the creative process and his 'thinking outside of the box' personality. Let's get on with it!!!"
Charlotte has been a leader and cutting edge figure in the 3D world for years, producing the animated "Fly Me To The Moon" and "Journey To The Center of the Earth," both released in 2008, and this year's "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island," which is currently a world-wide box office smash hit.
We're just getting started here... look for many more details in the coming months as we'll be filming this summer for a 2013 release.

Orion Music + More
Take a look about an inch (depending on your monitor, mobile device, tablet, etc.) up on the home page at our brand spankin' new Orion news ticker... we're so excited about our upcoming festival, and so many new cool things will be added in the coming weeks, that we wanted to always have the latest news right here on top of Metallica.com.
If you click on the banner, you'll go right to the Orion Music + More site and see that a lot has happened since we last met in our online video announcement. We've added the Damage Inc. stage which will headlined by our friends Suicidal Tendencies and Sepultura and will feature lots of cool, heavy, thrash and punk bands that many of you have not had a chance to experience yet including Torche, Red Fang, Kyng, Landmine Marathon, and more. We've added to the current the line-up Eric Church, our 30th anniversary partner in crime, Jim Breuer and his Heavy Metal Comedy Tour, Wooden Shjips, and our other Fillmore buddies, the Soul Rebels... they'll be joining Arctic Monkeys, Avenged Sevenfold, Modest Mouse, The Gaslight Anthem, Lucero, The Sword, and many others all listed on the site. There is a lot more information for you about the festival in the new FAQ section, and an awesome new video to watch with clips from many of the artists who will be joining us in Atlantic City on June 23 and 24, 2012.
Finally, we'll make it easy for you to count the days to Orion Music + More with the handy count-down clock in the upper right corner.
Lots more to come... keep watching here and OrionMusicAndMore.com.

The Next Level Chapter of Touring Begins In Mexico!
After years in the making, we are beyond excited to finally unveil the all new, out of control, massive stage and Metalli-show to some of our most rabid fans in the world with two shows in Mexico City at Sports Palace on August 1 and 2, 2012.
When we last visited Mexico City in June of 2009, those three sold out nights with over 150,000 of our craziest friends at Foro Sol Stadium were some of the most memorable, over the top, insane shows we have ever played. Now we'll be back with a brand new show that features your favorite iconic elements spanning our entire 30 year touring career all on a massive stage that is twice the size of the World Magnetic set up... we think it's something that needs to be seen to believed!!!
Tickets go on sale on Saturday, March 24 at 11:00 AM at Ticketmaster.mx. There will be a Banamex pre-sale starting Thursday, March 22 at 11:00 AM, ending Friday March 23 at 8:00 PM.
Finally, Met Club members should log in for details about their special pre-sale that begins on March 20 at 11:00 AM and will end on March 21 at 8:00 PM.
Mexico will be the first to see what will be the cornerstone of our touring escapades for years to come. Don't be scared boys and girls, this is going next level and we are just getting started!

So What! Hits The Newsstands
We've always been incredibly proud of our little publication So What! magazine that is sent to all Fan Club members every three months and is now in its 19th year of existence. As we were putting together the first issue of 2012 commemorating our 30th anniversary celebration at the Fillmore Theatre in December of last year, we realized that the upcoming issue was looking so special, so unique and so unprecedented that we really should make it available to share with all our friends around the world. Now we know that we're breaking the rules here – So What! is for Fan Club members only – but we figured since we make the rules, we can occasionally break 'em!! So for the first time ever we are printing a special limited edition newsstand version of the magazine in collaboration with Metal Hammer, who has joined us for our new adventure.
Hitting worldwide newsstands, book stores, websites (including metallica.com) and wherever else you pick up your reading material on May 14, the issue will be a 128 page extravaganza packed with exclusive photos and special post Fillmore interviews. You'll hear from all the members of Metallica, a few of your favorites that were on stage including Brian Tatler, Sean Harris, King Diamond, Dave Mustaine, and Rob Halford, and a look behind the scenes at how it all came together. As an added bonus, an exclusive 7" vinyl single featuring live recordings from those nights of "So What" and "Through The Never" is included with each and every issue.
We'll have previews and more details for you here as the release gets closer. And Fan Club members, do not fret!!! YOU will receive your very own anniversary special issue with different exclusive interviews, photos and reviews. For more on that, log in and visit 'Virtual So What!' The special edition of the magazine is available for pre-order here www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk/metallica and will be available for sale in the store at metallica.com.

The Snake Pit Returns!!
As you may have heard, the theme of our summer trek through Europe is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the release of the Black Album by playing it in its entirety at all 16 shows. And what would a tour of the Black Album be without a snake pit????
For those of you who were with us almost 20 years ago for the summer of ’92-’93 tours, you might recall that diamond shaped pit extending from the middle of the stage, well it’s baccccckkkk for our little summer vacation!
Met Club members with floor/front section tickets (it varies by venue) are eligible to win passes to watch from the snake pit at all shows on the European tour this summer with the exception of Rock Am Ring on June 2, where local production constraints prevent us from setting the snake pit up. Log in and get all the details on how to enter here.
We’re gearing up and getting ready now . . . see you on the road next month!
