Re: Amazon MP3 DOTD Thread (Nov)

Thanks for the heads- up. Amazon has matched those prices. Picked up The Wall, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, and Steve Miller Band Greatest Hits for $2.99 each. Looks like amazon matched the regular version of the Sheryl Crow debut instead of the Deluxe Edition, so I may be forced to get that one from Google Music.

Re: Amazon MP3 DOTD Thread (Nov)

There are several other $2.99 titles as well. I picked up Scars on 45 (which isn't bad, but sounds very "thin" across a good chunk of the album...not sure if it's the engineering or the encoding) and Sharon Van Etten, whom I still can't get into.

Re: Amazon MP3 DOTD Thread (Nov)

The new Sigur Ros album is currently $4.99.

Also, 28 "modern classics" are $2.99 each. I guess I would recommend the Daft Punk, Flaming Lips, and Neutral Milk Hotel if you don't already own them, but why wouldn't you?

Today's deal is a 50 minute Broadway soundtrack fro $10.99. I think we can safely say that the Deal of the Day is dead.

M83's album "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming" is $3.99 right now. The whole album is merely decent, but there's enough solid tracks spread across "two discs" to justify the price.

Picked that up myself a few days ago. Great deal for a very strong outing.

Yes, I just came here to both and at this one. Unbelievable. At least their "other" deals have been somewhat strong lately, although that's primarily due to them pricematching Google.

Hey, I'm interested in that title but no, not at that price. The CD is only $2 more.

Alex Clare's "The Lateness of the Hour" -- aka the album with the song from the new Bing commercial -- is $3.99 at Amazon right now.

$3 of free mp3 credit at Amazon, but it requires a Facebook account to receive it.

The $2.99 selection now consists of 35 "pop classics". Oh, the pain...

100 Must-Have Movie Classics is 99 cents. It includes Barber's "Adagio for Strings", Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue", Smetana's "Die Moldau", the 1812 Overture, Ride of the Valkyries...it's a no-brainer even if you only want a few of the pieces.

Even more $2.99 albums. I'm debating the Pete Yorn/Scarlet Johansson album, but I already own everything else I would even consider owning, which isn't much.

I grabbed it, since I've heard a few of the tracks previously and enjoyed them. Thanks for pointing that out.

I know it's just marketing, but it offends me to see Debussy's exquisite Clair de Lune being attributed to Twilight

That's a really weird collection of albums. About 40% are from people who are primarily actors who have released singing albums (Eddie Murphy, Don Johnson, Julliette Lewis, Scarlet Johansson, Mandy Moore, Jennifer Love Hewett) while another 40% are from singers who also have tried acting (Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson, J Lo, Prince, Elvis, Madonna).

I was thinking the same thing. And then there's Mandy Patinkin, who sort of fits in the middle.

Google Music has their "Mt Rushmore of RocK" collection on sale (though if 38 Special is worthy of inclusion, it's got to be a big friggin' mountain). Their albums run the full gamut of prices from $3.99 to $10.99 for the 12-track 1984 album Born In The USA.

Ha ha, definitely an acquired taste but I became a fan of his Broadway work. Never watched Criminal Minds or stuff like that.

You're quite welcome. The $2 credit pushed me over the edge on it.

Re: Amazon MP3 DOTD Thread (Nov)

I'm not sure if this is the AmazonLocal deal for other cities, but today's Cincinnati deal is $4 off any $7.99+ MP3 album for free, good through 6/20/12. The fine print states that it cannot be combined with the MP3S4ALL code.
