That is the only thing I wanted. I drove by my biggest local store and it was a clusterfuck, so I kept on driving. I called yesterday and they didn't have any more. I'll try to find a place to d/l it.

Being from the original vinyl era, and having spent most of my teen years practically living in record stores, I too don't understand how these super-limited releases that serve to satisfy less than 1% of the customers is doing the business any favors. I'd be pissed too by having to drive from town to town and getting disappointed at each stop. And any of the regular stuff could be purchased the day before or after without having to stand in the checkout line for an hour or more.

I'm not saying it should go away, I just think that next year fewer people will be inclined to even try. And the year after even fewer. And when hipsterism dies, the next generation will want nothing to do with vinyl, lest they be considered hipsters.
It's just a promotion. I think the only thing that makes these releases special are their limited production. It's just a shame that they all get sucked up by eBay entrepreneurs. I went out at 4, the store was not crowded and I got what I wanted that they still had left, bought other stuff (which is, after all, the point) and went home. Anyone who gets upset that they didn't get a Dio picture disc needs to reevaluate their life. In the end, the record stores should just say one per person and that's it and maybe even limit the number of exclusives to 5 titles per customer. Then remove the limit on any leftovers the next day.

RSD is about helping out the people running independent shops.

was looking around and the fellow who did the remastering for the New Order / Joy Division single has upped the JD tracks (plus other bonuses) to his blog, with permission from the band.

Didn't see anyone mention the release in the thread, but if you wanted to hear them, and didn't get to grab the release, you can download lossless files.

Not going to post a link, but google is your friend
