I didn't even know these guys had a new album coming out. Although never a critical favorite, I've always loved this band. I've listened to 'Purple' countless times. Plus, as anyone who has heard Weiland's solo albums, these guys make better music together. Hopefully his is a return to form. The only STP album I never really enjoyed was the last, 'Shangri-La Dee Da'
I'd be seeing them March 31st in Detroit if I wasn't seeing Spoon that day.

Glad to hear these guys (well, Weiland) are still alive and able to work well together. Favorite STP albums are Core and Tiny Music. Sounds like this new one is a winner which I will definitely check out.

very psyched to hear this! for a while now, the reunion's just been looking like a cash cow without any new material. can't wait.

Very excited for this release. Screw all what anybody else thinks, but STP were one of the best, and most underrated, bands to come out of the 90s. I'll take them over Nirvana or Pearl Jam any day of the week.

Glad to see all the love STP love in these parts.
I was afraid I was going to get blasted in this thread.

Huge fan.
I'm hoping it's more like early STP rather than later STP.

Huge fan here as well. Can't wait for the new album.
Coincidentally, I've been listening to No. 4 the past few days (underrated STP album, imo).

I thought maybe you had confused it with ALICE IN CHAINS and their song "Grind"...considering STP always seems to get grouped in with the other Seattle/"grunge" bands from the 90's.....

New single, "Between The Lines" out today. Listen here:

there's a part that sounds like a complete rip-off of Nirvana's "Stay Away". not really feeling it on first listen.

I like it - it sounds very 'Tiny Music' to me, which is my fave STP record (and that part definitely sounds like Stay Away, but I think that's probably intentional...who knows).

Not great but I definitely dig it. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album. I sure don't get a Tiny Music vibe though. Maybe it's just me.

Nice, I'm stuck in the balcony because we got our tix so late but since I've got another concert the night before I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the show. Checked out the latest setlists from their tour and looks like they play around 18 songs with 4 of them being from the new album.

I'm pretty sure I'll see them if they play in the Phoenix area, where I last saw them in 1994.
I want to hear "Crakerman." They probably won't play it, but I'm still hoping to hear it live one last time.
