Tracklisting: 1. Between the Lines 2. Take a load off 3. Huckleberry Crumble 4. Hickory Dichotomy 5. Dare if You Dare 6. Cinnamon 7. Hazy Daze 8. Bagman 9. Peacoat 10. Fast as I can 11. First Kiss on Mars 12. Maver Tour: March 18 - Austin Music Hall - Austin, TX March 19 - Horseshoe Casino - Bossier City, LA March 20 - WinStar Casino - Thackerville, OK March 22 - Midland Theatre - Kansas City, MO March 24 - Tyson Events Center - Sioux City, IA March 26 - Eagles Ballroom - Milwaukee, WI March 27 - Riviera Theatre - Chicago, IL March 30 - Palace Theater - Louisville, KY March 31 - Fillmore - Detroit, MI ------------- I didn't even know these guys had a new album coming out. Although never a critical favorite, I've always loved this band. I've listened to 'Purple' countless times. Plus, as anyone who has heard Weiland's solo albums, these guys make better music together. Hopefully his is a return to form. The only STP album I never really enjoyed was the last, 'Shangri-La Dee Da' I'd be seeing them March 31st in Detroit if I wasn't seeing Spoon that day. :( |
Re: Stone Temple Pilots: Self Titled -- May 25th, 2010
Glad to hear these guys (well, Weiland) are still alive and able to work well together. Favorite STP albums are Core and Tiny Music. Sounds like this new one is a winner which I will definitely check out.

Re: Stone Temple Pilots: Self Titled -- May 25th, 2010
I am pumped! Saw them last summer, as long as Weiland doesn't OD, I hope to see them again. Come back to SO CAL again soon.

Re: Stone Temple Pilots: Self Titled -- May 25th, 2010
Saw them last year. They were pretty damn good.

Re: Stone Temple Pilots: Self Titled -- May 25th, 2010
very psyched to hear this! for a while now, the reunion's just been looking like a cash cow without any new material. can't wait.

Re: Stone Temple Pilots: Self Titled -- May 25th, 2010
Very excited for this release. Screw all what anybody else thinks, but STP were one of the best, and most underrated, bands to come out of the 90s. I'll take them over Nirvana or Pearl Jam any day of the week.

Re: Stone Temple Pilots: Self Titled -- May 25th, 2010
Glad to see all the love STP love in these parts.
I was afraid I was going to get blasted in this thread. |
Re: Stone Temple Pilots: Self Titled -- May 25th, 2010
Huge fan.
I'm hoping it's more like early STP rather than later STP. |
Re: Stone Temple Pilots: Self Titled -- May 25th, 2010
Huge fan here as well. Can't wait for the new album.
Coincidentally, I've been listening to No. 4 the past few days (underrated STP album, imo). |

New single, "Between The Lines" out today. Listen here:
http://rockitoutblog.com/2010/03/21/...een-the-lines/ there's a part that sounds like a complete rip-off of Nirvana's "Stay Away". not really feeling it on first listen. http://rockitoutblog.com/wp-content/...Snapz00211.png |
Re: Stone Temple Pilots: Self Titled -- May 25th, 2010
Not exactly what I was hoping for, but good shit nevertheless.
|
Re: Stone Temple Pilots: Self Titled -- May 25th, 2010
I like it - it sounds very 'Tiny Music' to me, which is my fave STP record (and that part definitely sounds like Stay Away, but I think that's probably intentional...who knows).

Re: Stone Temple Pilots: Self Titled -- May 25th, 2010
Not great but I definitely dig it. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album. I sure don't get a Tiny Music vibe though. Maybe it's just me.

I'm pretty sure I'll see them if they play in the Phoenix area, where I last saw them in 1994.
I want to hear "Crakerman." They probably won't play it, but I'm still hoping to hear it live one last time. |
