Re: Adam Lambert on the AMA's

We need artist bafoons like this on tv causing a stir. Seriously it brings me tears to my eyes (of laughter).

Priceless...what a mess that performance was lmao

It reminded me when Britney Spears was fat at an award show and 50cents was like "WTF?".

Most likely they weren't watching. Do you have any personal experience with anything your saying? You admit you never watch the channel you speak with such conviction about... did you get the rest off the internet too or were you actually told those things?

Hold up. Nobody is selling albums anymore. Like, say, 5 years ago. Britney's latest has sold only a million. Sold about 500K in it's first week. Whitney sold about 300K and Mariah about 160K in their first week for their latest albums. And you know how much all of them sold in the past. 50 Cent's latest album will debut at number #4 this week with roughly 160K in it's first week (as of Tuesday afternoon). Most singers/groups make their money (some, "millions") touring these days.

Re: Adam Lambert on the AMA's

Ah Lambert-shambert. Seriously, it would seem his performance was successful at at least a few things - 1) it gave people who already don't care for him even less of a reason to like him, 2) conversely for those who do and 3) it got people talking about him. Love or hate him (personally, I'm indifferent) his name got out there this week because of this performance.

Personally, I'm more outraged that Michale Jackson took home four awards, and mainly the one for "Best R&B Album" for a greatest hits album that was released six years ago. Really? There were no other better R&B albums released this year? If that's not a clear case of trying to find some way to just give him added recognition, I don't know what is. Obviously they were going to give him some notice because of his passing, and not to take credit away from him, but let's be honest - if it wasn't for his untimely death this year, it's likely no one would be talking about him much, and he certainly wouldn't have won any awards.

Re: Adam Lambert on the AMA's

He kisses a dude and thrusts his crotch in a dudes face? That's the big deal? Has anyone watched a rap video....ever? How about a Christina Aguilera video when she was X-tina? It was crap singing, no doubt, but I do think if it was a woman this wouldn't even be entertainment news.

I'm more offended by Lambert's atrocious vocals than anything else.

Yup. His singing was bad but he's getting crap only because this was male on male kiss. He was on The Early Show this morning and while they blurred Adam's kiss on TV, right after they showed the Madonna-Britney kiss unedited.

I was going to post the same thing!

I respect a performer's right to express himself or herself, whether that be from a gay or straight perspective. And I think it would be great if a gay artist could begin to push the envelope more and gain some greater acceptance, much like Madonna did for sex in general back in the '80s. But I refuse to believe that Adam Lambert is the man for that job. This just reeks of desperation, wanting to be in the news for being so shocking!

The only thing that has shocked me from the start of Adam Lambert's career, starting with his run on American Idol, is how much some people like him. His screaming like a banshee act never worked for me. I'll acknowledge that he is a talented vocalist, but if he can't understand that sometimes less is more, that not all songs require a screaming section, then he'll never be a good artist.

And this guy is really crazy if he can compare himself to David Bowie and Freddie Mercury and keep a straight face.

Surprised we're the only ones who remember this. We must be old. By the way, was Ronson Christopher Guests inspiration for Nigel Tufnel's look?

Re: Adam Lambert on the AMA's

People are shocked.... SHOCKED... that girl-on-girl lustocitiude is acceptable, but not mutual dudity? What ROCK have been you been living under since forever?

And I'm all for any minority performing pushing to gain acceptance, but this just ain't the way to do it.
