You're probably right it's not a misprice. However when I first ran acrossed it Amazon had it listed rather strangely. There was only one listing in the MP3 section, and that was the $8.99 album. The only way to find the $2.99 MP3 listing was on the CD page for the album. I noticed they now have both listings in the MP3 section.

That's a great album, but note that "Sara" is the edited version (due to time constraints on a CD). They don't seem to have the full version of that song.

I'm not sure if this is a special deal or the regular price, but Amazon has a new Cure album for $3.61. It's listed as an EP, but it's 37 minutes long.

Since most of their single-disc albums run $9.95 on the MP3 store, you can basically get a free album out of the deal. Qualifying albums will have a "Special Offers Available" link below the price on the album details page; click it to get a promotional code, which you'll need to redeem before downloading the album (see the "Redeem..." link below the "Buy MP3 album..." button).

I can confirm that it works -- I grabbed The Clash's From Here To Eternity Live, and the receipt showed a total price of $0.00.
