Jeremy517 - Help (please). I installed LALAwatch and all is good, but the "beep" is basically inaudible. I am running Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.6) Gecko/20060728 Firefox/1.5.0.6 on Windows XP Home Edition (Service Pack 2). My speakers and internal audio controls are maxed out. Everything else on the PC is LOUD. Any ideas?

Thanks!

LaLa cookies seem to expire after a couple months, so you'll have to update your cookie about that often. If you ever get a "failed to find magic phrase" error, the first thing to try should be updating the cookie.
when I open the cookie, I see a long string of letters and numbers .. no "t=" or "a=" can someone clue me in?

edit: got it .. I was using word .. when I used notepad it broke it up for me

also, is there a way to only have the window pop up once? It seems to pop up once for each time the beeps sound.

You have to set the beeper or whatever to be long (time-wise). 1 second is too short, try 10.

Mine too, by default I think, but I changed it to many settings to no avail. It's working fine on my laptop too, just not on my home PC. I guess I will re-install and see what happens.

After getting a couple of cd's with no back cover art, I was wondering if there are any sites to find printable versions. Anyone know of anything out there? What do you guys do when you aren't given the back cover art?

I haven't had much luck finding back cover art, so I just do my own and print it up.

Yeah. As long as all the songs are there, I don't care.

Those of you who have no experience with WOXY are in for a treat. I started listening to them on the radio in early 1993, right before I started going to college in the same town they were located, and never stopped listening until the demise of the FM broadcast in 2004. I was in attendance at the going away party that WOXY.com forum members put together.

For me, the station largely died with the FM broadcast. Not being able to hop in the car and turn on 97.7 effectively killed it for me, and the downtime between the first WOXY.com death and resurrection prompted me to find alternate online sources for music, many of which I still listen to.

When WOXY.com came back, I tuned in from time to time, but it was never (and would never) be the same, and was just a place to find new music, not the place. The second death of the station on 9/15/2006 didn't faze me, but teaming up with la la truly has me excited about listening once again.

I looked under lala's FAQ but did not see an answer for this situation:

I have my account marked to receive cds with the cover art only. Someone just sent me a cd with no art whatsoever. It does give you a choice when checking the status as "received with no cover art" but does that actually do anything. Am I stuck with it or do they credit your account? Anyone run into this yet?

I'm pretty sure you don't get a new disc. The only thing that happens is the sender gets a mark against their account. If they get enough marks, they could be booted.

If you really want the artwork, put this disc in your have list to trade out, and readd it to your wants as well. Hopefully, somoene will want your no-artwork disc, and someoene else will ship you an artwork one.

It's only happened to me once, and I just kept the disc. I prefer the artwork, but it's not a necessity.

I received a promo copy. Everything is good. But still a promo so fuck the guy who sent it to me, I'm putting "wrong cd" in the feedback.

You're right, let's string the bastard up! I don't understand some people's reaction to promo copies. Yes, I am aware it's against the rules of la la, but if I want a CD, I want the CD, period. If it has a holepunch in the UPC or the promo stamp on the cover, I couldn't give less of a shit. Does the music play differently? No.

I remember Virgin used to put big white boxes on the CD's stating their ownership, and THAT used to piss me off. I also know that some companies stamp the front of the CD book in gold. Both of those things piss me off. However, if it's only a slight holepunch in the cover, I have no problem whatsoever.

But i'm really not understanding why getting the artwork is an option. It doesn't make sense to me that someone wouldn't want the art.

Shiv, I probably wouldn't be bothered by promo stuff either (I'm keeping what is sent to me), but some people want to trade off what they receive and they technically can't do that if they get a promo from someone else.

On a side note, WOXY.com went live (once again) today. la la member home pages have had the announcement posted all day. It's good to have them back.

I don't get it either. I'm on the artwork-only option, and am disappointed when I get cover-only stuff, but there are some people out there (look at the LaLa boards) who are seemingly VIOLENTLY opposed to artwork and the people that want them. Why? No clue, but there are a surprisingly large amount of them....

If I had a nickel for every regular version of a CD that I received instead of the DualDisc, I could've bought WOXY...

oh, and I received my first disc withOUT the back tray insert today..
