I have a promo copy of Teenage Fanclub's Thirteen with cover booklet but no back art. Anyone wants it? Lala is sending me another copy so I don't need this promo one.

I just wanted to give Jeremy a big thanks for the program. It has really gotten me interested in LaLa once again. Right now I have 9 discs coming to me and 9 discs shipping out to others (these include some discs I never thought somebody would want). I have built up a +10 trade differential which should help me receive discs as soon as they are available. Also, I am now only 20 discs away from 100 traded.

I was able to finally ship Norah Jones's first album using Jeremy's program! Thanks!

Just signed up for this last night, and have a few questions..

-When listing CDs that are in cardboard cases instead of jewel cases.. do I just ship these as is and put the whole thing in the envelope? You can't take the artwork off of it unless you ship the CD solo (which I don't want to do).

-I have a bunch of CDs from back when I did some DJing, and they are marked with my initials on the disks themselves. Are these acceptible to list on the site?

Assuming it is not a too-large digipak and will fit in the envelope, go ahead and put it in and send it. If the packaging is too large, you can either blow them off or send it to them on your own, which is what a lot of members do.

As far as initials, they are fine and can be sent.

Presumably at the request of the users, Lala redesigned the newer envelopes with a bigger 'pocket' that can easily hold an average digipak. I doubt you'll fit a multi-disc (3+) case in there, though. I had a hard time fitting just a CD and complete artwork into the original sleeves, so it's nice to see that they're listening to suggestions.

The first batch of new envelopes I received were larger, but the subsequent ones have been the older size. Has anyone else found that to be the case?

Speaking of discs I never thought I'd get rid of, I was able to ship my copy of the Posies' "Dear 23" today. I've been trying to sell it for years, to no avail.

I finally received my first t-shirt after a month or so; how many trades does it take to get to the second shirt?

What do you do when listing a 2-disc set? The discs are listed separately, so do I list artwork only for 1 of the discs?

Official policy is that for multi-disc sets, you are not required to send artwork even if requested, but the general concensus, and most logical thing to do, is to list and send artwork with disc 1.

Here's where "one man's treasure" applies! I find it kind of odd that that CD wouldn't be one someone would request since it's quite good.

I sent out a digipak last week and ended up cutting out some paper and taping it all around the part sticking out because it didn't fit inside. Wasn't pretty, but it worked.

On the rare occasion I have a double album to send, the front artwork goes with disc 1, and the tray card with disc 2. Seems only fair, since both discs rarely go to the same person... which, I might add, has always felt very strange to do; I always message one person or the other and apologize about having to send the disc's brother to a different home.

I must have gotten the older envelopes, because the digipak is too long to fit into the envelope. So should I just send the CD & booklet?

I have sent 2 digipacks. The first time I more or less seperated the 2 halves of the envelope and resealed it with the case. After that, I went to an office store and bought a pack of CD-sized bubble envelopes. It costs money out of my pocket to ship it, but I would rather do that then ruin it, plus it was really appreciated by the receiver. I know others have done the same thing.

OK.. I received my first few CDs today. One of them plays well in my CD player, but skips like crazy in my computer and is unplayable there. 1) Is there something that can fix this? and 2)What condition would you put in the received status? I mean it plays in some places but not others.

Mark it as a bad disk. People shouldn't send out crap and they should pay for it, not you. This way it goes back on your want list and you do not have to pay for it.

There must be an influx of new users. After a month or so dry spell of receiving 1 or 2 discs, I have been flooded with discs coming my way. Good shit too, not discs I was "so-so" on and got them for the hell of it(which is usually what I get).

In the past week I've nabbed:

Tool - 10,000 Days
Pearl Jam - (avacado)
Mitch Hedberg - Mitch All Together
Mitch Hedberg - Strategic Grill Locations
Robert Schimmel - Unprotected
Enigma - L.S.D. Collection
Ayreon - Universal Migrator 2

All of which have been on my list since I signed up. I'm looking forward to seeing what's next.

Probably not as long as my Nelson CD.

This guy is so funny. Great album too. I'm a little bummed that he and his wife split up (as it was kind of fun when he joked about her), but I guess he did get with his daughters best friend. Strange world.

Yeah, I've gotten some better ones on my want list as well.

Green Day -American Idiot
NIN - With Teeth

I'll admit to nabbing a Nelson cd. I probably won't ever be getting rid of it. Damn those VH-1 shows and getting their Love and Affection song stuck in my head.

I keep my cds in those big case logic CD books so my jewel cases are at my parents house. Will they accept just discs or do they have to be in jewel cases? Sounds like an interesting concept.

You don't send the jewel cases; you use clamshells that LaLa provides. The idea is that if you use jewel cases, you'll just use a jewel case from a CD that you sent off to another LaLa member.
