It's sad... but I think I'm the only person that voted for me this round...
Oh well!
Man, cdollaz is a hard matchup - looks like (especially) the DMB album did me in with a lot of people. That's okay though, even if you're not a fan at all I think this is one of the best albums they've put out - it's much jazzier than their newer pop-radio friendly drivel. Thanks for all those that voted for my music in the 1st round!

Too bad most people voting aren't putting in reasons why they are voting for one person over another in a matchup.
I'd love to hear reasons why I'm not getting their votes. Both of us in my matchup have a good number of popular choices. I don't know if its because people think I was trying to stack my picks with a few of my choices, or something else.
As I stated before, each of my picks was because those albums influenced my musical taste significantely.
Looks like I'm bowing out this round. I think I'm down 2 or 3 votes so far. And only a few hours left to vote, I can't see me getting any more. I think the number of votes this round is close to the number of votes last round(in voting participants).
I'm not conceeding presently, but acknowledging the fact that I may be exiting.
Nice picks illennium, and a good matchup.

Hiro11: Didn't mean to offend you... But I didn't make the rule or enforce it. Your votes last round weren't counted and there were a couple of close matches. Every vote counts! Choose or lose!

I know there's still plenty of time to vote, but it looks like the statistical predictions are somewhat accurate. Out of eight matches, it looks like the stats nailed half of them dead on, two of them are right if the voting ends now, another is in a tie, and one is incorrect.

not looking too good for me... a tough draw combined with (unsubstantiated) hate for a particular live acoustic album, will likely spell my doom.

1. Aphex Twin vs. ryuryu2949
Winner: ryuryu. This was tough. I really don't like 2Pac and it is hard to argue with Miles Davis and John Coltrane.
But, the Beatles, G'N'R, weezer and Beck help make up my mind.
2. ChrisKnudsen vs. maxfisher
winner: maxfisher. The two deciding factors: u2 and Queen.
3. cdollaz vs. Flynn
winner: cdollaz. I prefer his U2 and radiohead choices and I really like his faith no more pick.
4. Lokimok vs. BadlyDrawnBoy
winner: Lokimok. BadlyDrawnBoy gets marked down for George Michael.
5. Vryce vs. illennium
winner: Vryce. Tough, but Billie Holiday and Portishead win out. Vryce did loose points in my book for the White Stripes though.
6. Giles vs. jimdrix
winner: jimdrix. David Bowie and Public Enemy tip this for me.
7. DJLinus vs. cleaver
winner: DJLinus. No contest for me. Beastie Boys, Flaming Lips, the Cure, Pulp and Helmet. I also want to be able to say that I lost to the tournament winner
8. Mordred vs. Damfino
winner: Mordred. This was hard. I don't like AC/DC or Jefferson Airplane.
But I also don't really like The White Stripes or The Rolling Stones. Ultimately Metallica, Public Enemy and Elvis stole this one.

Also, I don't get where all the hate for DMB comes from. Granted, I don't listen to any of their records on a regular basis. But, they do have some awesome musicians.

1. Aphex Twin: I fucking hate Gn'R and the Marley choice was a bit of a cop-out. Boards of Canada:
2. maxfisher: max has a near flawless line-up; Chris has some great picks but it wasn't even close.
3. cdollaz: Frank Black & Faith No More make this an easy choice.
4. Lokimok: I may be in the minority but I can't believe BDB is going to win this one. Biggest upset this round, IMHO.
5. illennium: As others have pointed out, Vryce started strong but his picks trailed off (jagged little pill? wtf?). illennium has 10 great picks including Kraftwerk and Marque Moon.
6. Giles: I can't explain it. Must be the Muppet soundtrack.
7. DJLinus: He gets the win although I hate The Postal Service record. Extra points for Lips/James/Tribe plus my favorite box set.
8. Damfino: Easy choice although you picked the wrong Stripes album. Check out De Stijl.

Now I guess I need to go on the defensive. Since its still a close race and still time to get votes.
You might dislike her, but you can't deny that her debut cd marked the musical landscape of that year.
As I said, my picks weren't done so much so for ensuring an easy win. As evident in the first two rounds, both races were close. I made my picks based on music that shaped my musical tastes as they are presently. Sure, it might have hurt me, but I didn't want to stack my draft with the big name artists and albums everyone expects. Maybe my downfall, maybe my saving grace. Its all in the hands of the voters now.
And don't think that I'm somehow justifynig my lack of top notch picks as not playing the game fully. I most certainly am. I am hoping to squeak out the win this round to continue on. I made my picks to win, hoping to do so in a different manner.

First Pro-B posted 4 votes out of 8 matches. Then edited that post to pick a person for all 8 matches. One or two of the original 4 votes were changed.
