Didn't the chick who does current night shift on hfs used to be on 98 rock for about a year and quit because she couldn't stand her partner Mickey?

well, I think we all know how essenstially bland these lists are, but also how they stir such outcry and arguments, but I just have to say, these people really must get over Nirvana...The music press as become saturated with this goofy cult of how earth shattering, transcedent this group was, oh, please...really, yes I yearn for the days of 'serious' bands and music, but this nostalgia is pathetic...Cobain may have touched hearts and souls with his music and lyrics, but my God, hasn't Eddie Vedder, Billy Corgan and others? Ahh yes, suicide to gain immortality to the Rock Gods....

Jack,

How much do you know about music? Really? I'd like to comment...

Metallica St. Anger

I like how Kroq started to play metallica early on in metallica's career....
KROQ essentially took over for KNAC after they went kaput. With Metal slowly getting less popular as grunge exploded on the scene, KNAC just started losing their audience. A lot of the stuff you hear on KROQ, you wouldn't have heard if KNAC were still around -- even Rage Against the Machine was more of a KNAC band than a KROQ band when their first album came out.

So.. St. Anger isn't the only Metallica KROQ has played. They've been pretty much playing Metallica (mostly black album/load stuff) since KNAC's demise.

311 Creatures (For A While)

311's been one of those bands that has lasted some time. even though I dont like them much, they have shown some staying power but have also wondered into the "KissFM" dark side
311 has been around for a long time. I think KROQ has been playing them for 10+ years. I don't like them, but apparently some do.

Korn Did My Time

Korn has always been a staple of kroq's late 90's sound
Korn would have been a KNAC band. Guarantee you.

NOFX Franco Un-American

Kroq's means to keep that "roots" around.
Not sure I understand? KROQ has played NOFX in one way or another (despite NOFX's pleadings otherwise) for a long time. Rodney has played them for well over a decade. They weren't really part of KROQs mainstream though -- except maybe "Linoleum" which had some success a few years ago.

Thrice All That's Left

no comment as I don't find them at all interesting
Thrice is probably one of the best new bands KROQ is playing (frequently) right now. The song is off their 3rd album and they are well established in the "scene". As far as I know, KROQ is the only station playing them right now.

Dropkick Murphys Walk Away

I wouldn't be surprised if the life span of this band is shorter then Sponge
No offense. But you obviously don't know what you're talking about. Dropkick Murphys have been around for a long time. "Walk Away" is from their 4th studio album. They have a huge fan base. Will they have any staying power on the radio? I don't know -- but I don't see them going away anytime soon.

The Used Blue and Yellow

I don't see them staying around to long
Would you willing to take bets on it? The whole album is good. They have a pretty big following. They're certainly not a one hit wonder as "Blue and Yellow" isn't even the only song KROQ plays.
