Dashboard Confessional

Anyone heard of this group? I was recommended a couple of their songs recently and tried them out. Great band! I like the acoustic sound.
Here's their website: http://www.dashboardconfessional.com/ They have some free downloads and info on the band.

I recommend "Screaming Infidelities" and "Remeber to Breathe" for starters if anyone wants to *cough*preview*cough*

Don't like them. I was glad they pulled out of the Beck tour so that I didn't have to hear them when I went to the concert.

DC and Beck seems like a strange combination anyway.

That's probably why I don't like DC. Just not my type of music.

Or maybe I just don't like crap. j/k.

I kinda like the "guy and his guitar" sound he's got going.

I'd suggest Bright Eyes. At least the guy there is close to being a teenager, whereas the singer for DC is a bit old to be singing songs that sound like they come from a 14 year olds diary. That's just one man's opinion though.

Someone gave my roommate one of their CDs and he seems to like it.

You have to be in the right mood to like DC. I have their album and their unplugged. They dont' get much rotation, but when they do come around its ussually at the right time.

You know, to be honest, I haven't really even sat down and listened good to the lyrics yet. I mainly started the thread because I liked the sound.
Anyone else do that?

Whao....Dashboard was at the concert when i saw Beck.

I thought they totally BLEW. No energy, no nothing. Every song sounded exactly the same....oh my how bored I was.

Glad Beck put on a good show.

I like both, but just to play devil's advocate you could say that Bright Eyes is a little too pretentious.

And though I like both, I have to be in the mood to listen to either -- I really like Bright Eye's other band... umm.. Desapraciodos (sp?)

Desaparecidos, I believe.

If you like the above band, you might be interested in Statistic. It is the new band of Desaparecidos guitarist Don Dallas, or something equally porn-starish, and they are signed on Jade Tree. I'm sure you've heard of the label given the other bands you listen to. I haven't heard them yet, but thought you might be interested.

I've actually given it a quick listen and I wasn't overly impressed. Not that it was bad, but just not something I could imagine listening to often.

Im a huge fan of Dashboard Confessional. They have a sound that if you don't like at first it can grow on you at times. Screaming Infidelities was one of their main songs that got some rotation on the radio but not one of their best. I would say try:
"Again I go unnoticed"
"The Best Deception"
"Living in your letters"
"Saints and sailors"

Those are some of my fav. can give you more if you like.
